The end of Final Fantasy Tactics, sure there was some mistranslations and some other little issues but the game was huge, endlessly replayable (for me at least, I've beaten it 15+ times with different teams every time) and a ton of fun with a soundtrack that I love. Trisection? Anyone? ...Well...fine I'm going to listen to it!...alone! ...Or just play the game again.
FFT is my 2nd favorite game of all time. It is indeed awesome.

I overall felt that Half-Life 2 was a bit overrated when I beat it, but it does finish well. It's good in the beginning, meh in the middle and awesome at the end.

Awesome indeed good sir. Did you play through with generics only? (besides Ramza)

OP: Agreed. Half-Life 2 is, in my opinion, the most well-crafted video game ever made. Now play the episodes! Episode 2 is particularly intense.

It's pretty great, isn't it huh? :) Say... have you played Portal?

The question I pose to you guys is if you've ever had a moment, at the end of a game, when all you could think was "fuck, that was excellent" (or words to that effect :p)
Yeah. Half Life 2... and Portal. :D

I play with generics pretty much all the time. It's not really any handicap. Two Swords Monks, Jumping Ninjas and Blade Grasping Time Mages with Math Skill... The game isn't exactly balanced.

I used to enjoy making character builds based around characters from other games.

Well yeah it's not balanced but I was curious, I know a lot of people who mocked the game who only used the heroes and dropped the generics, which is 80% of the games charm. ...To me anyway.

Portal. I got the same feeling I get after listening to "Stairway to Heaven", or "Hotel California" the feeling of "Damn, these guys really know what they're doing". The game was like a tasty meal, and the song at the end was a nice light dessert that just puts a cap on the experience. (Okay enough analogies for now)

I WOULD have felt the same after Metal Gear Solid 4 (I haven't played 3), however I actually laughed as it came back for encore, after encore, after encore until it was just getting ridiculous. Kojima can make a great game with a great story, but he really needs an editor. It's like Yahtzee said in the Too Human review; some developers would rather stick scissors in their eyes than trim down their games.

Definitely. It's like somebody who plays Halo: Combat Evolved and only ever uses the Pistol and Assault Rifle.

Experimenting with generics, JP farming strategies, Faith/Brave builds and stat boosters are a big part of the appeal of FFT. One of the things I love about the game is how level counts for basically nothing. It's all about stats. At the end of the day, it's usually better to have 1 point of speed (or some other stat) than more health or magic capacity.

I have to honestly say, the only ending that has really worked for me as a whole package is HL2s. The chase before, the gloating of the villain turning to pleading, and then it just -stops-. Normally I'm quite easy to please, and if the game was good, usually the adrenaline of winning the boss battle for the first time will make me think 'this ending is awesome' but it's the exception that I occasionally watch back on youtube just to give me the shivers. Another game ending I found particularly satisfying as a conclusion, if not as an amazing piece of art (though it was, still) was Homeworld.

Mass Effect is hugely adrenaliney for an RPG, so that made me love the ending, and I'm tempted to say 'kotor has a great end' but in all honesty, the game peaked a little earlier than that.

I have to agree with you about HL2. I enjoyed the original and I was greatly anticipating HL2 but I was blown away the story and everything. Although the ending did leave you hanging but it wouldn?t be a HL game if it didn?t leave you with 100 questions at the end.
All I can say is if you liked HL2 you?ll love HL2-EP2, that one was great.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Epic everything. Story, characters and atmosphere.
Knights of the Old Republic, particularly the first one.
And, I did really enjoy the Wolverine game based on the latest movie. I reckon it truly portraits the character, in all it's visceral g(l)ory. Probably the most violent game I have ever played.

Phchonaughts.
World of goo.
Paper Mario the thousand year door.

If none of those titles don't incite warm, reminiscent memories then you probably have a poor taste in games.

Also when I beat the world tour on Rock Band 2 with my three best friends. (If that counts.)
If you mean the bit at the end of the Rolling Stone setlist, where you use the instruments to trigger stuff- the louser the singer sings the higher the flames go, the guitarist uses the button to do fireworks etc then I agree that is very awesome. If you've gone 1 step further and done the endless setlist then nice one. I can't find anyone willing to sit with me for 6 hours.

The ending to all the MGS games have got to me in a ridiculous way. I cried so much at then end of MGS4 when
Snake ALMOST shoots himself at the end, before Big Boss turns up
that when I answered the phone to my Dad he thought my boyfriend had dumped me.

Oh and the ending to the Lion King game on the megadrive.
