idunno about you guys, but the best moment in mgs lines for me was the first ever documented F-Bomb, said by Laughing Octopus. it was wierd that it took them 20 years to use one.

why call ME out on that? this topic was gone way back when someone started talking about knife-licking.
I thought the article was funny and well written. I also thought it was good example of picking the easiest target to attack; a bit like the big pulsating pustules on a Resident Evil boss.
To be fair, the article did set itself up as a critique of the story and not the whole game, but that's a bit like; "I'm not saying I dislike wrestling, but why does it have to look so choreographed?" If the thing you want to change is changed, it wouldn't be the same product any more.
I personally hate Japanese storytelling, they either hammer the point into your head with a mallet (MGS), or they just go batshit crazy (Silent Hill), but a big part of the reason fans play these games is for that exact reason. It's a style that appeals to them.
As style is a matter of taste, and as such, is subjective, having an argument about it is akin to a group of monkeys throwing their faeces. It looks funny but eventually whatever you had to begin with is lost under a pile of shit.
