So... you're believing what Fox News says, right? Fox News is putting up an inflated number of people who didn't like the health care that Fox News is against... I see nothing new here.
Ugh your like the 10th person to accuse me of being idiotic because I believe Fox news. I clearly state in my second sentence that I know the numbers are bullshit, I just wanted to start a discussion about American media and non American health care from an international point of view.

Well in that case, the American media tries to persuade us that we DON'T want socialized healthcare for some reason or another, but I would rather have everyone be covered than have people rejected service from hospitals and end up dying because they had the wrong type of insurance. I know that Michael Moore is just as bad as Fox News, but his film SiCKO really helped me see what was going on. Also, the American media is probably the most bullshit thing in the world.

By the way, I'm also a republican.

Honestly 70% of the English probably hate or complain bitterly about 70% of everything. So that's not really a surprising statistic to me. (I kid!)
That probably is a true statistic. Im British and I complain because it is a way to express ourselves.

British people like to complain we get high off it. Americans have Crystal Meth we have complaining.

Heh, yup. Complaining about stuff is just what we do, it's like a national sport, so that statistic is probably both true and completely meaningless at the same time.

I have no complaints about the NHS. They've always been good to me. And, y'know, I used to work for 'em.

Just heard this on Fox. Apparently 70% of people living in England, Australia, France, Germany and New Zealand want to, and I quote "Dismantle their health care system and start anew." Yes, I know this is bullshit but I'm curious how people of these nations feel about our media's portrayal of them, especially with all this health care hoo ha going on right now. Funny? Sad? Offensive? Also, do you know any people from any of these countries that actually do want to "dismantle the health care system and start anew."?
It makes me angry how they're using our countries better (according to the WHO) healthcare systtem as a way to argue that poor people shouldn't get health cover. I also hate Glenn Beck with every fibre of my being.

My fox news says the complete opposite, and it is far more reputable, and reliable a news service.
Sir; your fox's news is of the utmost reputability. Far better than that OTHER news outlet.

I'm shocked they didn't drag Canada into this... again, as a note.

I saw people campaigning to keep the NHS public. Good option but dunno how it'll pan out. I'd say that healthcare is taking a big hit now with the recession.

Saw it in Serbia waaay back, and if nothing happens right now - in the rest of the world too.

FOX NEWS MAN!

Also, I don't remember being asked for this survey, I owe my life to the NHS, it may be under funded, but it's better than going into financial ruin after an operation.

The whole portrayal of the Brittish system in America drives me mad at the moment, just because we've come up with a system that aims to help people rather than the drug and insurance companies that simply wants profits we are portrayed as dangerous unhappy socialists who all really want to change to the American system!

In the UK most people like the NHS, given that we're Brittish we do complain about it, but it is in fact possible to critiscise elements of a system without wanting to dismantle it, most people accept the fact that it is desirable for people to be able to be treated for their illnesses without having to take into account for their income/savings. For instance, am I the only one who finds it morally disturbing that when involved in a car accident when I was young in the USA the first thing the ambulance crew had to ask my Dad was 'Do you want to be taken to hospital?' Given that it was not an insignificant crash and that there were too children under 12 in the car, the chance of harm was not negligible. Yet, if my Dad had not had insurance, or been able to afford it then we would not have been able to get a check up.

Anyway, rant just about over, I prefer the Brittish system because it is immeasurably fairer, whatever the Neo-cons and insurance companies try and tell the american people.

Not only representing Britain but the NHS as I actually work as a Healthcare Assistant there. Yeah, most people complain about the NHS because it has its flaws - most of which previous commenters have pointed out - but the actual number of people who will go into private healthcare as an alternative is surprisingly small.

IMHO, I think the NHS may well end up being a pay system like the current US model, but honestly, 70% of Brits will likely compain about it but still not actually be against the NHS. It's free, and that's what seems to be important - at least in the area I live.

i'm english and the NHS is one of the things I take pride in, it may not be perfect, but it is almost always adequate, if not excellent. this is a flagrant lie on the part of FOX news, but what can you expect from those fascist propagandists?

everybody in every country wants to improve there healthcare system but ive never met anyone in england who wants to start anew, frankly i think its relatively amusing that republicans are calling our healthcare system evil and various other things, but also think its disgusting that they are critisising our healthcare system when english doctors are having to go over to america and set up charities for the increasing amount of people that cant get healthcare in america. and thats no lie.

odd. Out of all the people I know, no one has criticized the NHS, just the amout of funding it gets (which is too little).

It is true a fair few people hate the fact that in some situations the NHS is slow, but then again, it's not their fault. They can't change that, they're helping thousands of people everyday and saving hundreds of lives.
