Wow...my not-so-classy highschool with one teenage pregnancy in the past year seems like a fucking Ivy-league school now.

Wear protections, kids!
Ivy-league schools aren't exactly known for their good behavior. They just take higher grades.

At that level of psychosis, no amount of education is going to help.

Such a waste of human potential all because some kids wanted their jollies off, didn't use protection and/or are psychotics.
Psychotics?!

You do know that girls are raised with babydolls teaching about being a mother waaaay before they are old enough to have sex? The idea that being a mother is something awesome is pumped in our brains by adults from very early, so don't call a teenage girl who wants a baby a psycho, plz.
It is the same people who teach teens 'abstinence only' and sex before marriage = sin, who make the dolls and teach that women are there to be a mother above all.
I think he meant to write "psychosis," which would indeed be the correct term to describe that sort of behavior.
I do agree with you, however. I've always thought there was something disgusting about dolls and the glorification of motherhood >>

http://www.wmctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=13833438 That guy who said that the impregnations are not taking place in the school, I think that is a lie. And the girls supposedly planning to get pregnant, that is scary. I have managed to maintain my virginity for 20 years. Ah kids these days with their bodies and their unprotected copulation and their carnal/romantic relationships.
i am responsible for every single one of those pregnancies.

There must be something in the air... high school girl's legs.
Ha, that one's pretty good.

Yea, and this is why we need condoms to be dispersed liberally.

I think you saw the documentary on the pregnancy pact that was made between 18 high school girls in some New England state. This one just happened this school year I believe, if I read the news right.

Question just sprung into my mind - between those 90 girls, how many fathers are involved.

I'm betting the number is going to be less than 90.

As much as I hate for that idea to be correct, something tells me you're probably right.

Ninety pregnancies.

Not to mention the success rate for getting someone knocked up or anything, but how much sex do you think goes on in this school? Also, guys and girls don't lie, how hot is it that it's a bible school.

I had sex twice in high school and I thought I was big pimpin.

Anyway OT: The figure of 20% is either a massive disgrace or a made up lie (I HOPE it's a lie for the girls sake). They clearly don't know any better. Also, I hope that the kids they're giving birth to are being taken care of as well.

I'm aware a young mother can still give the kid love, but love is one thing, financial security is another.

They really need sex ed and to cut this abstinence bullshit, it obviously isn't working at this school.

Preach abstinence by all means, but give them condoms as well.

So...how's that abstinence only 'education' working out?
How do you people know that the school has an abstinence only policy? I didn't see that anywhere in the article or the video.

See, here's the first step, end the bullshit abstinence only sex-ed program, and begin proper sex-ed, where you remind people to wear a condom if they have sex, because they're going to have sex anyway, if you tell them condoms are useless they will never bother to use them.

Next, tell them how much a kid costs. That'll end all these teen pregnancies.

Really, this does not shock me in the least - they don't teach teens how to use a condom and a lot of them probably just want to be on that Teen Mom show on MTV. I hear a lot of teenage women are getting pregnant just to be on TV.

Between the shocking lack of comprehensive sexual education, and shows like "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" glamorizing teen pregnancy (and tacitly encouraging girls to get pregnant to get on the show), and those few girls who just think they're ready to be moms and want to do it while they can still "milfs", its hardly surprising.

Distrubing, sickening and horrifying, yes. But not surprising.

http://www.okmagazine.com/2010/12/16-and-pregnant-credited-for-decrease-in-teen-pregnancy/

"Many critics have argued that MTV?s 16 and Pregnant is glamorizing teen pregnancy, but a new study credits the show for decreasing teen pregnancy.

MTV News reports a new government study shows U.S. teen birthrates dramatically decreased in 2009.

And 16 and Pregnant is being credited for the decrease.

National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy reports that 82 percent of teenagers credit 16 and Pregnant for helping them understand the challenges of unexpected parenthood."
Because "OK Magazine" and MTV News are credible news sources.... (Hint: MTV is the network 16 and Pregnant is aired on. *cough*bias*cough*)

As for the study, I'm calling shenanigans. First of all, I don't think the show reaches enough viewers to account for that whopping 82%. Second, statistics can be manipulated like Play-Dough, especially if you choose your target demographic for the poll correctly.

More likely the decrease is because more and more schools are adopting comprehensive sexual education.

Don't underestimate the lure of 15 mins of fame. Its why tens of thousands audition for reality shows every year. MTV is saying, very loud and clear, "Get pregnant in high school, and you could be a star!"

Must be a small school, if that is 20%.

I feel bad for the children, but I can't say I really pity the students. They had the sex, I guess. Wasn't there something a year or two ago about 20 teenage couples forming a pact to have children?

i only want to know that if they have no brains (apparently) how can they go as far as getting pregnant? or am i naive?
When nobody teaches about safe sex, and nobody has condoms, this happens:

Horny = Sex. They do not know better, because nobody teaches it right.
Where exactly did it say the school did not offer Sexual education classes?
