I use it just to quickly tell my friends where to meet up or what were doing because I'm too cheap and lazy to text everyone.

I feel that blogs as a whole are dumb. Who cares if you slept well?
Most blogs are just a place to vent, as they are for me. But Twitter is way to confined to get a decent rant out. But as my friends who use it say "It's just so I can legally stalk celebrities" yes they are BOTH girls. Who like:

Milely Cyrus.
Busted
McFly

And one of them:
BrokeNCYDE < When I attempted to show them the most fail ever.

So it's basically a site to shout out to people on what you are doing every 10 minutes in public. Sounds pretty stupid. What happened to just Instant Messenger programs? Isn't it just easier that way?

I made an account because apparently a few "celebrities" were insulting each other, and who doesn't want to see Lily Allen taken down a peg. And a lot of people were talking about Stephen Fry's Twits (Mr. Fry is quite possibly my hero) so I signed on and there was nothing to interesting. I tried posting stuff myself and everything fell into two categories pretentious or boring (as in I found them boring myself, why would anyone else want to read this) I did get three followers. But I only posted three times

Facebook is useful as I can arrange parties etc without e-mails or phone calls x fucktons! The status bar (and people who update it every friggin 10 minutes) is/are twattish, get a life! I can't believe someone thought the most irritating aspect of one site would make a great application! Although he's probably worth more than Cornwall now...

I made a twitter because I listen to a lot of podcasts and they all told me to subscribe to their twitters. I figured they might have interesting information there... but I was wrong...

before twitter I liked facebook status because I could put amusing things there, and I guess twitter does that as well, and saves them, which would be nice if I cared, maybe.

Many people are "attention whores" and that's where they can bath in attention by others. What is a screen door on a submarine? A window??

Short answer no.
Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Well, yes, I HATE TWITTER. All of those twitter tweeting twats always tweeting about their twitter really makes me mad. They're all twits. Facebook has status updates just like it, and you can have something like double the words in them. So ha.

I think AndyVale had the right idea. You will only get out of Twitter what you put in.

I think the motto of twitter should be changed from 'What are you doing?' to, 'What are you thinking about now?' The best way to get the most out of tiwtter is to follow interesting people on twitter and NOT BE A DEADPAN F###WIT! to those compaining that "oh, i don't understand this new technology, so therefore it must be stupid and pointless": Great! Stay the hell off it and let us who want to use it properly get on with it.

Twitter in its best form is NOT a barebones Facebook with everyone chanting mundane thoughts with the same enthusiaism as thowing a rag at wall about every single thing that happens to them, it a platform in which indivduals can impart knowledge upon others, keep loved ones in the loop while overseas, link to sites with entertaining videos, update scores and promote giveaways and competitions.

The trick is to follow people Who You Actually Want to Hear From. Comedians are some of the best obviously, because they turn news and events in their lives into jokes that may never make it to the stage or television event. I joined Twitter because Trent Reznor from NIN (whom many know is at the forefront of many marketing and internet revolutions) was on this site. It gives you a chance to interact with the famous (and their fake counterparts who are sometimes better entertaining) on a level never seen before.

In sumarary; when Twitter is used properly as a tool in which to enlighten others about interesting things that happen in your life and crack funnies with the stars, it is the new revolution in social networking.
When not used properly; you get 20 million people complaining about swine flu and their missing socks.

If some of you whingers stay off twitter, i will be most glad.

It is stupid but the problem is that all the celebrity's are using it, and when they do something you know people will follow.

I use Facebook, but mostly for those addictive flash apps. That and the one RP group that I admin, but I could just as easily move that over here if I wanted to (though it would bring a whole bunch of people who can't use grammar/capitalization to save their lives so I won't; I will continue to torture my inner Grammar Nazi and let him out for his nightly walk here). Twitter just seems more narcissistic than I could handle.

If for some legitimate reason you needed to communicate to a group of people easily, like for example organising an event so information could be dispersed easily, then I could see the system being potentially useful but for the most part it's people I don't know or care about spouting shit. I think this takes facebooks title of most time wasting useless website.
