So, I think everyone who wanted in, IS in, except Toast... who I am currently offering a more 'unique' role. :] Once that is sorted out, we will either start tonight or tomorrow. I'd like to start tonight, after I have dinner and welcome my sister home for the holidays- if that's alright with everyone?
Name: Jonathan Shannow III,
Known As: The Young King, or Free Jon
Title: Monarch of Jenje
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tall and slim, Jon wears the ceremonial robes or uniform when he has to, but prefers omre simple clothes chosen for comfort more than cost, though his advisor try to talk him out of it. He is handsome and muscular, his image as yet unmarked by age or care.
Weapons: When dressed officially, he carries a long light sword that is practically a rapier, but despite his advisers' best efforts, he also carries a beautifully made pistol crossbow. The advisers tel him a monarch should not use such weapons, but he says if someone dishonourable attacks him, hhe prefers to be able to shoot back
Personality: Jon is, in some ways, totally unsuited to the role of monarch. Born far latter than his brother Luke, he was raised for a post in government or as an ambassador, while his brother was prepared for life on the throne, made used to a life of luxury and passivity. However, once on the throne, his brother fell ill and died without a child, and Jon was made the King. He is often a problematic king, as he has a disconcertingly common taste in music, habits and dress, and refuses to be steered by his advisers, while on the other hand, he has a detailed knowledge of the law and of diplomacy. He also has a habit of wanting to take the nations business into his own hands, which causes great distress to a system that is used to having a puppet king.
Operating Method: As yet, Jon has little style of governing, s he is trying to win control back from the corrupt bureaucracy that grips his country
Public View: The public know very little of the real Jon, since the system has a powerful propaganda force, but wince they are greatly discontent with the corruption of the state, what truth they hear of Jon's efforts impresses them.

I know, you ninja'd me. xD And I was too lazy to go back and edit. But you're in, so no worries! ^_^
-EDIT: 8:53 PM (GMT) Alright, I'm just waiting on word from Toast, but he can join later without a problem. I'm going to start the RP in just a moment. :]
Your hands tremble as you feel the letter in your hand. The parchment is crumpled and messed, but the dark ink handwriting is smooth and elegant. It smells of dirt and the hard rode taken, of salty sea air and the sweat of a horse pushed to its limit to bring this message to you. It smells of adventure.
You, the monarch of your city-state, sit in a small room within your palace, decorated to your liking. Two guards are stationed by the door, staring into nothingness but unnervingly alert. Your military's general stands before you, having just delivered the letter from the messenger at the palace gate. Your advisor stands over your shoulder, reading along the letter with you as you swiftly mumble the words under your breath. You push past the 'how do you do's at the start of the letter, searching for whatever reason this message was sent.
...crucial time for development in these lands. As you are no doubt aware, resources have been growing thin as of late, and tensions rise between our regions. It is therefore paramount that the leaders of our great states should meet, and discuss the future course of our actions.
I sincerely hope that you heed our summons, and take the journey to Creta. Here council shall be held, and the outcome of our Earth decided.
Cordially, Queen Yvaine Dencharte, Monarch of Creta, Daughter of the Light King Serdinan...
A long list of names and titles continues, but they are of little importance. The message has been received, and the decision to answer now lies upon your shoulders. You may or may not notice, that on the back of the parchment, in a lower corner, is a hastily written message by a different hand. It seems as though it has been added secretly.
The journey is just as crucial as the destination.
Skang
Creta is closest in distance, to the south, though the path is through a series of mountains with steep cliffs and narrow walkways. A large force seems a trivial thing to bring, as the mountains nowadays lack any sort of food and slow passage is imminent. Should you run out of food, you are doomed. If you choose to accept the journey, you must bring a smaller force, if you wish to bring soldiers.
-Maximum soldiers available: 10
-Maximum caravans available: 1
Jenje
The mountains surrounding Skang would be hazardous to travel through, and taking port in Lithia could lead to trouble from those who resent the pirates that originate from your land. It is recommended that you take your strengths- your navy- and either sail north, around Skang, and as close to Creta as possible... or sail south, up into the bay closest to Creta. Because your city-state has faired well financially, you have plenty of ships and soldiers to choose from.
-Maximum soldiers and sailors available: 30
-Maximum ships available: 2 (large)
-Maximum caravans available: 4
Liatha
You are surrounded by the sea on one side, and grassy plains on the other. The fastest method to reach Creta would be to march straight across the plains, staying south of the Skang mountains. However, at the quarter way point, you would run in to marshes, where you would be slowed dramatically. If you sail, you may run into Jenje pirates.
-Maximum soldiers available: 20
-Maximum caravans available: 2
Though Skang has the least soldiers, they are the most well-trained, so don't despair. Also, Jenje, your ships do have canons, though they're crude and inaccurate and new technology- you also have little ammunition since it weighs the ships down.
These are the most logical solutions for you to reach Creta. If you want to take another path, you may debate it in your character, but the geography is a little restricting. You can view a map here [http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh69/Helixx51/Blank_Fantasy_Map_by_Ragir.jpg] to get an idea of where you are.
Damien interlaced his fingers and laid his chin on them. "I say we take one ship, with 8 soldiers and 15 sailors. One single ship will not attract as much attention. The sailors stay on the ship and return to Jenje, while the soldiers continue onwards to Creta. We should sail up the north, since Skang does not have as advanced a navy. This also decreases our chance of meeting both Liatha and Skang until the city, since both have overlapping paths and we would be caught right in the middle. Do you agree?"
Ronald marched around his camp, his eyes zeroing in those he saw slacking and avoiding their duties. There was no place for the lazy in his army, nor in his country. He watched over a small squadron of training troopers, practicing the deadly art he had placed into their very souls. A few arrows flew through the air at high speeds as the launched themselves at their targets, promptly sticking into the center of the dummy upon impact.
"Excellent shot, lets just hope you can hit a moving target just as well!" Ronald's voice boomed throughout the camp, striking a fear into those around him. "Make sure to keep your crossbows at the ready at all times, you can take a man out with a flick of the trigger!" He spoke wearing a fake grin, because inside his mind was racing. The news of a meeting in a distance land was not something that could be taken lightly and his soldiers must be prepared not mater what.
He made his way to Augustus's throne, awaiting for any orders.
Savan looked up from the letter, his eyes searching the hall for a pageboy. Spotting one, he called for a map to plan their route. The page ran off through the corridors and Savan turned to his advisor. "What do you think Tranus? Jenje will certainly be moving by sea and I wouldn't want to meet him on route to Creta. The land passage looks easier to me, slower but by far safer."
Mattiaus waited for the king to finish talking to his advisor. He liked wht he had heard, he was in agreance the land route would be far safer than the sea, especially with Jenje out there. Rumors had it they had some new weopon on their ships that coud spit balls of iron a long distance. Mattiaus pulled at the cloak around his neck, he was uncomfortaby warm.
Lady Tranus looked at her leader, and put her hand on her chin, she was in quite a predicament here. But he eventually came to a conclusion.
"Sire, I believe this may sound strange from myself, and it does break my heart to say this, but we should, nay, must sail to Creta! Lithia is in a deeply horrifying predicament, the pirates of Jenje are battering our economy more severely by the day! It is true that the only reason Jenje has not employed a full-on invasion is due to the sacred status of our city! Time is of the esscence if we are to earn favour with Creta before those Jenje thieves! However, we must remember that there may be another route that we could take..." Tranus stood up, pulled our a quill, and scribbled on the map in the centre of the room.
It then looked like this. [http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/8501/82911198.png]
"If we take this route, we will avoid the majority of the pirates to the north and east, and cut our journey in half!"
Mattiaus looked at the map, It was a daring move that would save them from having to cross the marshes, but there would still be the risks of running into some of the pirates.
"Your Majesty, Lady Tranus is correct, if we take this proposed route we will be be to avoid the marshlands and cut our journey time in half, but I must warn that Jenje will have thought of this too and might even attempt to catch us as we sail. Which ever way you choose sire I will gather the best of my men to acompany us."
Seeing as I am the general of the Skang military would it be alright if I decide the equipment the soldiers use, because I havent seen any real description of the Skang warriors.
[sup]Probably because I'm slightly brain dead at the moment.[/sup]
Jon looked thoughtful. He had found it worthwhile to question his advisers on every detail, for he was determined to reinstate the crown as the main deciding force, and weed out the corruption in his ministers.
"Why not 15 soldiers?" he asked Damien, "We can afford to field that many, and it would serve no disadvantage."
Edwin sat in with the King and the General, deciding on a plan. He heard both suggestions, and offered his own.
"15 soldiers may be too many for one ship. We still need to think about that. But, 8 might not be enough to fight off whatever we may come across. I suggest we meet somewhere in the middle, at about 12 soldiers.
Damien leaned back. "I thought 8 because any more than that and it would attract attention. if we only take 8 of the best soldiers, we could disguise ourselves as merchants, and pass without undue suspiscion. If we take too many soldiers and try and disguise ourselves as merchants, that would be bad. Most villains would be after us, because a merchant would have to be very rich indeed to pay for 15 soldiers. 12 still sounds a little high to me, but we could make it work if the soldier pretended to be poor quality on the journey. Does that make sense to you, gentlemen?"
