I didn't see much focus on the game from the part you showed us, the younger brother was just being a sore loser, and took it to the greatest logical extreme, so it's nobody's fault, except the little brother''s of course, since the little twat saw fit to get a shot gun over losing in a damned video game, I mean, what's wrong with that kid anyway?

As much as I think the media gives the video game industry to much burden and blame for this, I read this whole article and no one blamed the video game industry at all. The title simply stated what happened, if they were blaming a certain game, if would be littered all over the article.
But you know somewhere down the line an ignorant minded tool will say,'where did he get the idea to shoot someone with a gun' and the answer will be games.

I just find it hard to believe that blame goes on video games for murders committed by children, yet no one looks at TV and movies, I mean look at some of the violent stuff they have on there. Not that I'm saying that any sort of media can be solely be blamed for the actions of an individual, I just don't like if there the remotest chance video games were involved in the scenario, video games are instantly bought to the limelight.
Well ok but you can't blast someone cause you speculate that maybe in there mind they blame the video game. thats stupid. Trust me I know Journalists if they thought it was the games fault that article would be PLAGUED with propaganda against the gaming industry.

You know what they say about people Who Assume things.
Ok maybe I was too quick to judge, but games are easy scapegoats these days.

I don't like this new age Darwinism.

Traditional Darwinism kills the idiot. New Age Darwinism kills their kids.

Retards shouldn't breed, but innocents shouldn't die because they did.

massive f*cking sigh
this is more a case of bad parenting than games, I mean it obviously shows this kid has anger issues to pick up a loaded gun and shoot it at someone to "win" the argument

Exactly. This kid killed his brother because of an "argument about a computer game". So it's obvious that games are to blame. Disregarding the fact that if you've kids, they're going to argue with each other, and disregarding the fact that this guy wasn't responsible enough to keep his shotgun out of the hands of his children.
I concur; they could have argued about literally anything else, and no strange conclusion would have been drawn. Notice that there are not nearly as many stories along the lines of "Toddler breaks sibling's Furby, dies in gun-duel." =\

Thats why I'll never be going to america....guns being kept in houses....it being your rights to bear arms and all that malarcy....It's just crazy in my honest opinion.

This situation was inevitable.

This will continue to happen.

*sighs* at America.

And yet Americans persist on having firearms legal because an old piece of paper says so, these accidents serves them right for being stupid to be honest.
And I absolutely love people like you two who take the time to insult Americans with these articles.

Do you know how many more murders there would be without self-defense? Criminals will get guns, it doesn't matter what freaking law you put on it, it will always be possible. Just look at drugs, people still get them when there's laws on the illegalization of them. Oh, but what happens when the normal American citizen gets freaking robbed at gun-point, huh? Just let the robber take all their stuff? Well, that would happen a LOT more with stricter gun laws.

The people who are to blame are the crappy parents, not gun laws. Guns aren't the ones who force people to commit crimes, the person is. The criminal will always find a weapon to commit the crime.
The fact that you have no idea what you are talking about makes this so much more fun ^^

Take sweden for example: Firearms here are illegal if they are not to be used for hunting and hunting alone, and for that it takes a spot-free criminal record and you need to get certified.

And guess where that leaves us: MUCH lower accident AND homicide rates than USA.

And yes, you are correct, guns do not kill people, people with easy access to guns kill people, and therefore making it so that every single stupid american keeps atleast 1 gun in the house makes it a perfect scenario for crimes and accidents.

So yes, Americans are stupid for worshipping that old piece of paper known as the constitution as if it was the one book to rule them all, even though the second amendment only does harm to the country.

Where the hell did they get the gun from, what kind of father leaves a Shotgun lying around with young kids whilst he goes out to mow the lawn???

They should be prosecuting the father for being an idiot, if anything.

America seriously needs better gun control.
no, they needed better gun control

if you store it in a gun cabinet, unless the kid had the code or a plasma cutter he cant get at them and if they would have stored the ammo in a separate place in another locker then the kid cold not get at either
But it should be required, for ownership. Not a personal choice.

I have to start off by saying not every American has a gun and of those who do about 98% of them are safe gun owners who lock everything up. Now there are always idiots who go out and get a gun and really dont know how to be safe with it and then when they have kids the kids do not learn to respect the gun and well we all know what happens.

And about the old piece of paper (the US Constitution) it is only important because it is basically the set of laws for our country.

They probably were fighting eachother after a rousing game of Uno on xbox.

I think that video games had nothing to do with this. and a little kid cannot handle a shotgun without a accident to help control the gun.

EDIT: why were there bullets in the shotgun in the first place!?

That's also why invading armies will never be going to America either. Or at least not without nuking us first or some other situation that weakens us too much.

We also have a more effective method of removing our government if it gets too corrupt. Torches and pitchforks alone probably wouldn't cut it.

And considering more people die from Drunk drivers/car crashes/drug overdoses/suicides/forces of nature than from accidental shootings I don't think staying away from the U.S. is making you much safer (just more sane).

Oh please! If it wasn't a gun it probably would've been a knife. Should we ban knives now too?

Switzerland requires every male over the age of 20 to own an assault rifle...ASSAULT RIFLE... (specifically SIG 550 in 5.56 cal.) This means that every Swiss home with an "of age" male has a gun specifically made for killing people, and you don't hear of this sort of thing happening there. That means it's not a gun issue, it's ONLY a stupidity issue.

It must be something in our drinking water here in the U.S. Maybe it's the rainbows in our water supply (see youtube).
