Am i a bad person if I want to get Halo 4? Serious question. Because apparently any game related to consoles, FPS, or popular franchises here are considered an abomination.

Y'know, I have a PC. I get games for it every now and then. Where is this Narnia-like other realm of glorious unending innovative euphoria PC Gamers claims it has? A Mod community and Starcraft. That's what PC has. Stop acting like consoles are the vomit spawn of the devil.

Lots of Mario and Zelda titles is hardly a recent development in gaming.

Eh, to be fair. I don't see much of that negativity in the gaming forum at least.

Only by an obnoxiously vocal minority.

Many of us are psyched up for Halo, Battlefield, MW3, ME3, Skyrim... no matter what platform we're going to play them on.

Really, I saw a lot of good looking games that were announced for consoles.
Huh, I must've been imagining them.

i'd like to know what PC gaming is innovating that consoles aren't. seriously, make me a list.

if you mean graphically, with hardware melting games like crysis (which was universally panned as poor gameplay in pretty makeup) then you're in gaming for the wrong reasons. while i enjoy the graphics of our current generation, they are in no way needed for a good game, or should be considered "innovation"

in fact, as much as i hate it, the 3D and motion sensing gaming is as close to innovation in todays game market as we are seeing. and these things are almost exclusively console features. what other examples do you have? the only real gaming innovation that still mostly belongs to the PC crowd is MMO gaming. and that's on the way to the console market too. and not ff11, but i mean things like Class4 (the persistant online world zombie game coming to xbox, and the follow up to the smaller Class3, which if you read up on, is AGAIN a console exclusive gameplay innovation.)

and how about the xbox indie games? while a lot of the time, these games are crap, just the fact that we've been given the tools to create actual games, and not just half life mods.

i, in no way hate pc gamers or pc gaming. but to say it's more innovative than console gaming is just blind, blatent elitism.

and at least my performance in online shooters on consoles isn't effected by how good my hardware is. with consoles we know that everyone is playing on the same piece of hardware, and therefor are judged purely by their skills. or their ability to crabwalk.

As am i (well except for Battlefield and MW3 but that's my taste and opinion). I just find it disturbing even if it's just the minority, that make unnecessary complaints on certain games. Some of them are even completely unrealistic or false. For what reasons, maybe it's a disdain towards some developers, or maybe it's just for the lulz/to just troll, but either way, I find it most of the time to be complete ignorance. Sure, sometimes there are certain game franchises or consoles that deserve some of the criticisms, but not to the point where those criticisms make it to the point where it makes that game/console/developer/franchise/cake/whatever look like it's complete trash which most of the time, is completely untrue.

Either that or people here just have extremely high standards XD.

okay, so minecraft is a good call, but it should be pointed out that the fact that it's coming to console makes it entirely possible that the game couldve been made on a console, the fact that it's pc is incidental.

and, correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't portal hit all markets at the same time on the orange box? again, not a pc thing. in fact, the portal idea was done (on a much simpler scale) on the 360 launch title prey. there was a blue entrance and an orange one, that looking into it shows the other side, and takes you there as well. in fact, playing portal, prey was the first thing that came to mind.

(EDIT: to stop the innevitable "porting a game is not the same as actually making it on the hardware, an xbox indie game created a minecraft ripoff from the ground up thats almost identical to minecraft. the fact that mojang chose pc to make it on doesn't make the innovation a pc specific one)

Halo FTW! Yeah, I'm getting the remake on day 1. Sue me, the original is great and a better running, better playing, better looking, better online remake is totally worth every fucking penny. And the fourth looks to be pretty fracking slick as well.
I agree with you 2. HALO FTW!

I can't wait for the new instalment, if people don;t like them they should just ignore it.
