Right lets get this out the way:
I'm British, and I'm still looking forward to see Captain America, y'know why?
Captain America, is NOT, I repeat is NOT Captain AMERICA FUCK YEAH!11!
Cap is actually quite a good character, he just gets written off as some vehicle for American propaganda because of his name, which is understandable, I used to think the same thing, however, his name is forgiveable given he was designed as a super weapon against the Nazis during WW2, at a time when patriotism was in high demand, however he isn't some sort of tunnel in order to prove America is great, he wants to protect his country, but only in the same way all super heroes do, Americanism name or not, he wants the population to be safe and wants what's best for them.
The easiest parallel to draw is he's a lot like Solid Snake, a patriot, but one for the country, not for the government, although they both work for the government, they have an element of tragic-ness about them, used and abused in order to forward the governments master plan. Obviously in the 1940s and the cold war, he WAS used as a propaganda machine, but the writers didn't want this, which is why at the turn of the modern age of super heroes (Ie the grim dark era), his patriotism was stripped away in order to develop a proper character, one out of place from his proper time, frozen in ice for 50+ years and blasted back into the current era confused but still wanting to make sure the world was safe.
Stuff like the Civil War and Death of Captain america storylines showcase his willingness to try and make the world safe, a mission which cost him his life (in as much as comics do), I could even imagine the US government wanting him dead as a future plot point due to him not forwarding their agenda, but at the end of the day, he isn't an all american boy scout that he gets pidgeonholed into a lot of the time . If you've played Metal Gear Solid, but not read Captain America, you should have some idea as to how his character actually is, rather than how he's portrayed.
Cap hates the American government and their corruption, he barely agrees with them at all, a fact he makes quite clear in the comics (not that I expect people to know that if they don't read the comics, I just want to set the record straight), he's a soldier because that's that all he knows, a soldier genetically engineered for War and nothing else, forced into fighting because he represents hope for people, a task he can't put down out of fear that the people might lose hope in the face of danger.
If anything, Cap represents the antithesis of current American Politics, he's fought the American government due to their decisions, (hence the possibility of the American government wanting him killed during Civil War) and in his current form represents the writers views and wishes on American Government, a corrupt system which needs something to stand up to it. Cap represents Truth, Justice and hope in its purest form free from any ties to nationality regardless of his name and costume, not "Truth Justice and the American way" as people would have you believe.

For the record this IS NOT a rant about America or WW2 i am well aware that without them Britain could not have lasted much longer than we did and i know alot of American's died as well.
We would have lasted as long as it took. No surrendering, just making the Germans fight and die for every single inch of ground that they wanted to take. Yes we would of lost eventually, but dont make out that america was the big saviour. They wernt. They were happily making money off both sides before pearl harbour. An then made a fortune giving money to us and europe to rebuild afterwards. Yes america suffered when they joined the war, but dont down play the UKs part in it as us brits had no choice. If there was no pearl harbour, then america would have stayed out of the conflict.
As for Captain America, dont give a shit. Just a guy in a costume to be another "wow we americans are great and saved the world" bullshit. When if it wasnt for our up yours to germany america and russia would have had the whole german armour against them, not a battle on multiple fronts.
Im bitching. Sorry. Just this ignorance annoys me and belittles the brits that died protecting the UK as if all we had to do was sit still and play cards until america come to save the day.
The OP is British, it's like the first sentence of his post. He even says "I hate the AMERICA FUCK YEAH attitude." I'm pretty sure he's not belittling British troops during WW2, you really didn't need to bring that into the thread, it's about Cap, not a debate on WW2, that's something for somewhere else. As for the Cap bit, read above.

Im american and i could give two shits about captain america
Could
n't give two shits. saying "I could give two shits" implys that you care, which is pretty obvious if you actually read that sentence.
Seriously, why does no body get this? Does anyone read that sentence after they've written it and think "Yes that means I don't care" as opposed to "I do care"? Could is a is a yes, could is a affirmative, Could'NT is the negative. If you can't do something you don't say "I could do that" do you? Why does no body make this pretty simple linguistic connection...argh!
