Really?!
I would have loved it if they burned the entire planet to get at the unobtainium.
I prefer our cities to that stone age socioty that the Na'vi have.
Hell, why didn't they just genocide the Na'vi with WMD's or something?!
....when the Humans blew the home tree to bits and when the Na'vi were charging the Humans on horses and on foot and the Humans greeted them with a wall of high velocity metal....oh yes.
You're just as insane as they are and like them not in a "cool" way.

But this the internet and I don't expect anything else.
Oh really?
You think that the fact that I think that we shouldn?t give a shit about an inferior race makes me the equal of those that are suicidal because they can't go to Pandora?
Yes.

Since both conclusions are arrived at using extremely unsound logic.

The Na'vi don't have Pizza, Ale, Rough lusty sex, X-Box, Wii, Rocket Knight Adventures, Mega Drive 2, That hot girl at work, Converse, Chordaroy, Toast, Toasters, Jibberish, Chinese food, Dark Rum, The Internet, Bean bags and a host of other things.

Who is the lesser species? Not..we.

They're upset because the media has given them something pretty but shallow and entirely fake that they can never have?

Ordinary men have been dealing with this for decades. It's called Playboy Magazine.

I suppose I can see why people would be a bit blue after seeing Avatar, and wanting to visit it's world and all that...

But depression? Suicide? Maybe true for some, but it sounds like a great big fanboy-fad to me.

My logic is valid.
It's simply a difference in opinion.
I'm not really going to jump into an arguement, since I'm not in the mood for internet head-butting, however I wanted to know what makes you believe that one race is inferior/superior to another? Is it due to the technology at the disposal, or the military strength of the race? I seem to get that impression from your post (assuming you're not being ironic and I've totally gone ahead and missed it), but using that logic shouldn't we wipe out tribal races on this planet?

I'm literally just interesting in your opinion, not in causing an arguement here.

you must be from USA
Your ignorance is hilarious!
No, I'm from Ireland!
not ignorance I just fell into a generalization. For that my apologies.
I find it weird that you liket that, as effects goes the scene is great, but using weapons against inhabitants that are already there just to obtain the mineral is in many ways morally wrong.

Actually that does seem about right, if you said "You think that the fact that I think we shouldn't give a shit about a FICTIONAL race makes me equal to those that are suicidal etc", then you would be right and your not insane.

But anyway, i'm kinda sad that a majority of our society are so void of an imagination that they can't even create their own fantasies and need to steal them from movies, books and games. I know it's been like that for a while (LOTR, startrek etc fanboys/girls) but I don't think it's ever been this big.

Of course you think its valid, otherwise you wouldn't have come to that conclusion.

But genocide is never the best solution to a problem since there is always far better ways to solve it. Thus it being your opinion makes no difference.

So it still holds true that your logic is unsound.

I thought the world of Pandora was seriously beautiful I wasn't depressed but more irritated by the fact that the humans lose and we don't crush all native resistance on that planet

I'm lying I was a bit depressed but then I went out with some of the guys on a pub crawl and can't remember much cept for the pretty colours

People have different morals.
Regardless, they have a resource that we need, why not gun them down for it?
under that premise, do not be suprised if sometime your country is gunned down by a resource needed by another (more "powerful") country
