Oh dear god... It sounds like the second coming of Twilight. Only less vampire and more blue.

Well, I wouldn't put it past them, they were quite set on protecting all the little spirits...

They are a different species. At least let us beat them up until a possible one day when we may have multiple species in our society.
I like beating up unfriendly aliens... (Just so anyone reading this knows, I mean sci-fi aliens, as in non-Terran non-Humans)
Sorry, I just wanted to say that.
We shouldn't attack our own species when we have enough enemies as it is.

I think they're all really getting depressed because if Avatar was real then by becoming a Na'vi they would be able to change their life to a more carefree one, in which they could live as one with nature. This is of course a load of #@*$!. Even if somehow by some miracle we could go to Pandora and we had the avatar technology, we could never afford it for private use, as it's described to cost a fortune to grow just one, surviving the wildlife would be near impossible aswell as finding a Na'vi who wouldn't kill you on site. From there you'd never be able to persuade them to bring you back to their village. From there you would have to persuade the entire village not to kill you, and then you would have to earn a place in the tribe. And after all that you would then still have to worry about surviving every day. To summarise these people are depressed because they can't do something completely suicidal.

Really?!
I would have loved it if they burned the entire planet to get at the unobtainium.
I prefer our cities to that stone age socioty that the Na'vi have.
Hell, why didn't they just genocide the Na'vi with WMD's or something?!
....when the Humans blew the home tree to bits and when the Na'vi were charging the Humans on horses and on foot and the Humans greeted them with a wall of high velocity metal....oh yes.
I love you.

Fuck off troll.
Woah woah woah!
Have a problem? I'm sure it can be resolved without calling people with different opinions a 'troll'.
In fact, I can say that Demented Teddy is not a troll. But your post is more than a little suspect, so can we do things civilly?
Thanks.

Yes it would be nice to go to Pandora (ignoring the inhospitable atmosphere and the 10,000 or so predators that will eat you at the slightest drop of a hat), but when did people stop being able to differentiate between real life and make-believe?
Since ever.

But thanks to the internet, we now have a way of letting everyone know.
Yaaaay?

Yeah, that was my favorite scene too, it's almost like these citizens wouldn't fight for the federation if given the chance. got to love starship troopers

That does seem like an empty complaint, of course it's lame that beautiful environments like the ones depicted in Avatar don't exist, however the same can be said of any fantasy story or movie setting. I mean hell we all talk about wanting to live in an age of magic and mayhem but in the end we will end up missing our comfortable living style in the real world.
Whatever, the point it I do kinda wish that I could live in the world of Pandora but I can't so I don't dwell on that.

I dunno if you watched the film but in it Sigourney Weaver explains that there tree god is actually a living organism, just the natives called it a spirit or whatever the hell. I actually liked the fact Cameron didn't resort to magic and fairytale crap.

If its logically ok to invade and kill other inferior species then why not invade other inferior human countries? It runs along the same lines of might being right.

wow. calm down buddy, he's not being a troll. I feel the same way he does and it has nothin to do with "native Americans". But in the end, yeah I was okay with all of it, and am okay with all the stuff people do today to each other because to me, its just life[sub]and my opinion[/b]

I saw the film. Ja, it was a living thing... Well, at least... hmm... Sorry, my mind is cogitating information on that subject.

As for the second part, I fail to see how it would be logically ok to do the same to other humans, but that is because I think on more of a species level than nation level.
But then again... well, I never said might was right. It is our species against the enemy.
I don't actually agree with the situation in the film anyway.
It was a corporation going after cash, they were not an army sent by Terra.
(If none of this makes sense to you, I am sorry, as it makes little sense to me) :D

My sentiments exactly. If anything, people should be inspired by the movie to protect and research our own planet's natural beauty. It's probably something along the line Cameron was going for.
