The only plot twist that I could imagine that would make TimeSplitters 4 make sense. Someone else decides to make TimeSplitters apart from Crow and maybe that person was the guy that gave Crow the idea. Maybe we'd actually find a logical reason why to create things to destroy human history apart from being a hardcore misanthrope.

How about when it turns out that
Cortez was actually the one to give crow the idea to make the TimeSplitters?
to quote Cortez:
"DAMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!"

well, i loved in Fable when you can either kill your sis to get the super sword (sword of aeons??), or you trow the sword into a void

but it was all meaningless when they added the other sword for the lost chapters, it felt pointless and stupid to make such a great plot twist a mere gimmick. (now there was no real prize for being a dick or a real punishment for being good... as somethimes happens in real life)

Before I had clicked to view spoiler I was expecting something like Cortez got with a chick from a past mission and Crow is his son.

NOW TRY FIGURING OUT THAT PARADOX!

Zeus was the Gravedigger in GoW.

Took me a few seconds to go like...wait, what!?! o.o

Hrrmmm....Portal, the thing about the cake. Especially when the credits rolled, I laughed.

GrimGrimoire, the lead character was the one who got everyone into the mess, Wasn't on purpose, but she drove the point. (yeah yeah, I loved the RTS business, specially when I got Golems, Catapults for a dungeon :3, and Grima--....little cats that can stop people or burn out their mana.

The Kotor plot twist is easily my favorite, because on your first play through it seems like it came out of nowhere, but the cutscene shows they have been eluding to it for awhile in the game.

I also like the twist in Tales of Symphonia, where you learn the truth about the chosen and world regeneration. It makes you think this is a pretty messed up world you are in.

Digital Devil Saga 1&2. The Junkyard from the first game turns out to be a virtual simulation, then the survivors are transported into the real world, whose populous is living underground because of a sun(aka. God) that turns people to stone. And that's just scratching the surface.

Hmm the Bioshock one was interesting but I can't think of anything else that I found surprising. Assassins Creed has to be the worst though, you can tell in the first few minutes of the game that your boss looks a bit strange :Z

The best is easily KotOR when it turns out your main character is Revan, that blew my fucking mind, it was so unexpected but so well done and it made since. Also unlike Samus turning out to have titties this was actually plot related.

I liked the one in Albion, a really really old RPG, where you'd crash land from your mothership onto an alien planet, believing it to be a completely barren wasteland and then finding it to be teeming with life.

You figure out beforehand that the corporation you're working for is evil, naturally, but you still need to find your way back to the mothership, and you spend almost all of the game exploring this new planet trying to find it.

You eventually find it in the middle of a desert. You're taken back on board, try to tell the crew what had just happened, and they all call you mad, because you're in the middle of a desert, so the rest of the planet must, as they have been told, also be a desert.

If I could have leapt into the game there and punched the captain in the face, I would have done.

It's been said a few times and I'm not surprised because it really is very good.

I can't see why nobody has mentioned this one before I did. The only plottwist that made me turn of the game out of shear anger and disbelief. It was that awesome. You had to let it sink in.

After all your travels and fighting for his future and that of the world. Turns out the main protagonist is the main ANTAGONIST. After the 'final boss' he turns on you, turns into a mini devil and throws your entire party in a cell. He even becomes a boss fight later on. Great stuff and totally out of the blue.

My favorite plot twist would have to be from Bioshock. Anyone who's played the game knows what I'm talking about, and even some who haven't, but I still won't talk about it here, because I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't played it.
Bah, at least drop a spoilered hint for people,
would you kindly?
As I saw this thread, that was the first thought that came to mind. ;)

Someone did mention one of the [prototype] plot twist.
<spoiler=But i think this one is better>
The agent you have a monologue whit in the cut-scenes throughout the game turn out to be your evil tumor in disguise.

Your a tumor in disguise, oh yes you are...

Kotor: You are Revan (pure genious)

TES: Oblivion Shivering Isles: Sheogorath IS Jyggalag (I thought it was clever)

Modern Warfare 2: more of a confusing twist when you get shot cuz I'm still not sure wtf happened for Roach to deserve that... Although can we really consider it a plot twist if there is no plot?? :O
