Through out the game, we the player assumes that his wife is dead. but then we see her alive and well, but then it turns out she is (gonna be) dead.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one who was dumbstruck when Karin turns out to be Yuri's mom. And then I kicked myself for not realizing it sooner. That twist was made of awesome.

Jak is from the future. He was brought to the past (the first game) to try and be taught the skills needed to defead Metal Kor, the leader of the metal heads. He has also been protecting himself for the whole game, as the little boy with the crocodog and he is thr rightful ruler to the throne of Haven City

Of course, Jak 3 had some major WTF twists in it.

Jak's real name is Mar and through some crazy time paradox, is the founder of Haven City. Damas gets killed and reveals that he is Jak's father. Finally, Jak finds out the precursors are actually Ottsels, like Daxter.

Ah, fun game.

As convoluted as Metal Gear Solid 2 is, I'd have to say that the biggest plot twist

was that the Patriots have been manipulating and steering you to perfectly re-enact the Shadow Moses mission without you knowing.

I don't know if it was just me, but I was dumbfounded.

My favorite plot twist would have to be from Bioshock. Anyone who's played the game knows what I'm talking about, and even some who haven't, but I still won't talk about it here, because I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't played it.

Bioshock's plot twist quite EASILY surpasses that of Knights of the Old republic and pretty much any other game in existence. The only plot twist that's better than it would have to be SHODAN's reveal in System Shock II. It still sends chills up my spine.
But, bioshock's plot was pure gold. such a well told interwoven story and then they did nothing but improve on it in the sequel. Truly masterful storytelling.

I loved both games for different rasons. Jak 2 in my opinion had a better storyline, wheras Jak 3 had more places to explore and new guns, plus Light Jak. I remember just working to get the infinite light jak cheat and then just flying everywhere XD
