Maybe I need to reread my posts, but I never mentioned anything about the effects of marijuana at all.
What proof do you have that these "precursors" or whatever you want to call them used substances. None, then again I have no proof they didn't as there is basically nothing known about there supposed existence. It also has nothing to do with this debate. The debate is whether marijuana should be legalized. Also animals are not people, nor are they human.
I say let it be legalized, but only for medicinal purposes. Put it behind the counter at pharmacies not behind the counter at gas stations.
No, you need to read the thread in general. The comments on effects were directly aimed at the critical fail of confabulating retardation and schizophrenia. Then again, if you get your information from "Reefer Madness" reading threads might be a bit much....
I don't need proof, I have a brain. The oldest known recipe I've heard is for beer. Even if that's not quite true it's close enough. Fermentation existed even before recipes. Monkey's eat fruit. We eat fruit. Cavemen ate bad fruit from time to time and got drunk. Do the math.
In fact, this is why prohibition failed: Alcohol is the oldest known substance to be used. We literally couldn't keep from using. Not as individuals, as a society we couldn't quit.
And yet alcohol, as I stated before, is far far more dangerous then pot. Both in moderation and in excess. So you only want pot for medicinal purposes? Does that mean you only want alcohol for medicinal purposes?
The most basic arguement for legalizing recreational marijuana goes as follows:
1. We always have used, we always will use.
2. Criminalization of use of some substances is needed, criminalization of others does more damage then intelligent legalization.
3. Compassionate societies will look to reduce the damage done by their laws. Hence the reason murder is illegal but drinking is legal.
4. Marijuana makes more sense as a recreational drug _than any other_.
Finally if you get your drug of choice, say a glass of wine with a meal, what right do you have to say that I don't get to smoke a joint after dinner? Especially since I don't drink (the damage was too much for me?)
I'm done with this thread. I'm tired of the same old crappy anti-pot arguements in a world where booze runs freely.
In the end, pot WILL be legalized sooner or later. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
If any of you want a response send me a private message. The rest of you enjoy your thread.
