Black Ops - Incredible campaign footage

It does look pretty interesting, the multiplayer customization looks very extensive and the single player actually looks like it's worth a damn.

But, as I've said before, I will not buy it. I will not support Activision, even indirectly, and thus will not buy this game or any future products with an Activision logo on it. That may cause me to miss out on some great titles, but oh well.

But, again, as I've said before, there's no reason why you guys shouldn't get a good game aswell. I wish everyone who's purchasing Black Ops, or any other Activision product, to have a good time with the game. It's your choice, and some of you may just ignore Activision's involvement and just look at the game itself, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I sincerely bid you a good game. Enjoy, I'll have fun with New Vegas perhaps, or Enslaved.

How about rent it, they may get a small portion of rental fee but atleast you get full enjoyment from it.

Just an idea, it's also a way of getting back at, I am guessing, Mr twatbag bag Kotick, you get full enjoyment of a game, while pay them little to nothing for.

I've read up on some of the multiplayer stuff, and as a friend of mine described it; "This will be the game that Modern Warfare 2 failed to be". Not too keen on vehicle sections, Treyarch have proven that they are terrible at creating them before, well, no one except for Bungie can make good vehicle sections it seems. Hearing that there will be more than one of them isn't exactly a positive in my book...

Well since getting Medal of Honor I'm back into the shooter craze that Call of Duty 4 began, and Modern Warfare 2 ended.

They haven't changed the formula for these games since the fourth one. There is no fucking reason to let yourselves get hyped about this game! That remains to be seen in my opinion, even though I did love the cut-scenes in Enslaved. Serkis's performance was amazing.

I didn't mean to suggest discuss doesn't mean definitively it doesn't mean argue against, it means to talk about it in anyway. I know what it means without having to look it up on the net.

Coming on to a thread that is targeted at people looking forward to it and posting stuff like "it's bad/mediocre/whatever" and doing nothing but ragging on it, isn't really discussing that much.

We all know some people won't like it and aren't going to get, we all know there views on the COD series, so posting nothing but hate is just unnecessary and kind of off topic.

has nothing to do with the campaign or the footage of it.

It is expressing views on the game and/or franchise, which if the thread was named "give your thoughts on COD" would be fine and dandy.

Black Ops looks amazing. I'm really looking forward to it now.

Actual actor's performances, giving a personality and a voice to the main character, David Goyer working with the plot, I love how they're heavily focusing on the single player.

Not to mention the multiplayer looks simply insane. Like it or not, they already have my money.

"Expletive filled" implies he swore more than once. Also, he's bordering on a fair point; the game's are yearly updates, which a great many people only buy because everyone else is buying it. Sports games often pull the same trick.

I have to disagree there, having seen the huge changes to the multiplayer and the clips from the campaign, the game seems far more than just an 'update' to me.

And I buy COD because I enjoy them, not because everyone else is buying it.

And of course it's not exactly the same as with sports games (they get away with far more), but my point still stands. It's probably balanced out by the £12(!!) map packs though.

People demand new games and innovation, yet when a game does give them that, they ignore it in favor of games that are essentially the same as the last.

Unless Black Ops turns out to be the greatest game ever made withing the past 5 years and a story that actually affects the player in untold ways, I'm not buying it. Not right away at least.

I'm not getting burned like I did with MW2. And with all the new shit they're adding and it seems they're not having a beta, I'm betting it will be unbalanced as fuck.

I've got better things to spend my money on in the meantime.

Yes, the graphics are pretty. Yes, the motion capture is good.

However, bear in mind that a large proportion of that video was cutscenes and scripted sequences.

As for the the gameplay, it's yet another first person shooter. I have clicked on hundreds of thousands of little pixel men in other games just like this one. So why would I buy Black Ops? So I can click on a few thousand more little pixel men? I think not.

And story... phht, don't make me laugh. Granted, I haven't seen much of it so far. But really, what are the chances of it being anything other then more militaristic gun-wank aimed at fulfilling the fantasies of 14 year old American boys? Anyone?

The AI stuff looked interesting, maybe even promising. Oh yeah, and I'm curious to see how they work that Reznov guy from WaW into the game.

The face animation is impressive that's for sure. Don't think i'll bother to pick this up though, I feel I've had my fill of CoD for now, these things come out so frequently I can't help but not feel excited for them.

Who knows, maybe i'll cave when i see everyone on my friends list playing it.

I admit that the dude wasn't expressing his opinion in the best of ways, but in later posts he showed that he wasn't just all "durr cod sux" but actually had reasons for not liking the game.

Well, it's just the vocal minority that scream that CoD is killing the industry. And about half of them then go back to playing Modern Warfare 2 after they're finished screaming. It's an amusing situation to be sure.

On topic: It's looking good. I've sunk a fair amount of time into MW2 online and I'm looking forward to sinking just as much, if not more, into Black Ops.
