I'm glad, i don't want to drive around in the deuce listening to one song for eight minutes.

Oh wait there's no danger of that- my 360 broke. =[

I looked through the set list since i'm hyped for this game. And they missed out Metallica (One of my favorite bands) can you see a reason why they would do that?
I think in a interview with Tim Schafer he said Metalica to him was "Hair metal" which he clearly hates. Its either that or they wouldn't sign on to the game.

There are thousands of bands not in the game, don't just cling to one.

Guitar Hero: Metallica and its connections with Activision for some reason make me wonder here. Perhaps if Activision and DoubleFine hadn't had a falling-out Metallica songs would've been on the game...?

Metallica isn't the be-all of metal. Really, they only really helped make the metal genre somewhat mainstream.

I would take Slayer or Megadeth on the game before Metallica or Anthrax.

1) Because Metallica are moneyhungry bastards who overprice everything.

and/or

2) Because Metallica sucks.

So, is no one going to say it? Fine, I will.

METALLICA SUCKS.

There, I said it. It's out in the open. Now let's deal with this like adults.

Metallica was a great band, for a time. However, I have two distinct reasons that put it lower on my list than Dragonforce (*Minor Spoilers* Who as far as I'm concerned only got in because they have one song that is good to run away from what is basically the apocalypse to.*Minor Spoilers Ended)

1. They WERE good. Now, they've just gone downhill, with the culmination of selling out in the form of a guitar hero game. To be IN a Guitar Hero game? That's an honor, good for you. To have your OWN Guitar Hero game? Stupid.

2. If they had never existed, Avril Lavigne would never have tried to sing Fuel. That *****.
This is incredibly flawed. If Metallica sucks, why have 100+ million people have bought one of their albums? And how have five consecutive albums debuted at number one? Or keep going to see them live? And if they WERE good, then why didn't the development team get a license to use their music from when they were good? Being in a Guitar Hero game and having your own Guitar Hero game are basically two of the same thing, just one requires more money. And Avril Lavigne completely irrelevant in the argument.

I will say that Load and Reload weren't as stellar as, say, Ride the Lightning, and St. Anger wasn't as memorable, but the fact is that they can still produce good music. Load and Reload were an attempt at breaking away from the standard way of doing things and St. Anger was plagued with tension within the band, and putting their foot in the water before jumping in. Look at how well Death Magnetic was... Provided we're talking about the mastered version and not the atomic bomb brick walled bullet in the "loudness war".

Metallica might have made some dip shit moves, but they certainly do not suck.

Metallica [was] cool, but not hardcore enough.
Which is exactly why Cradle Of Filth are in it....

Actually, every legitimate reason as to why Metallica aren't in it as already been mentioned.Their new stuff isn't metal and though their old stuff were inspirations in the metal from the 80's I would assume Tim thought that they were too clichéd.

They didn't put it in probably because Metallica charged too much for the rights and Lars would sue the hell out of them if they put it in anyway. Either that or Tim Schafer doesn't like them for becoming almost as corporate media whorish as the Jonas Brothers.

For me that last sentence is actually I would take all of them. Anthrax was always a personal favorite, but they all rock.

All the developers who were forced to work on toning down Lars Ulrichs' sense of self-worth to allow the enormous head of his avatar in Guitar Hero: Metallica to fit on the screen, even in 16:9, needed to form a support group to help them recover from the experience. Double Fine must have heard about this and decided that their employees didn't deserve to have their livelihood turned into a cruel and unusual punishment, thus, no Metallica in Brutal Legend. Because Tim Schafer cares.

It might not have been on purpose. More like a case of 'Metallica never returned our calls'.

Because they don't like Metallica?

I didn't see Metallica in any of his movies, or even mentioned in the Tenacious D show on HBO.

I'm sure they have their reasons... anyways can someone explain to me why Brutal Legend is getting so much hype when it hasn't even been released? Sure it looks good but it's getting ridiculous.
