Maverick looked to the man to his who had called his name. He was somewhat suspicious as to why he had pointed it out at this very moment, but he would oblige him. He said "Well...there is some phantom pain from the arrow wound, but physically, it's fine. Just some Mental blocks that keep telling me I'm supposed to still be injured." He chuckled slightly.

Nailos gave his warmest smile, "That will pass soon enough, I am glad you and everyone else came out pretty much uninjured," Nailos face became more seriouse "What I came to ask you of Maverick is what do think the bandit knows? Because it is odd they would attack such a well armed and group, and with such fury, I think there is more than a simple robber attempt here."

'Knew it. Not particularly Subtle are you?'

"Well, let's think about it this way. We have all been hired by a Royal Observer to go into a series of Mines which has a Large amount of Elementals present. Said Elementals replenish and Purify the water there. Whoever Lyle's Employer is has a vested interest in the Water of those mines, but not everyone does. Elementals are a Depleting Natural Resource in this world. It would only be natural for a Noble of differing opinion to hire a group to capture said Elementals. We know nothing of these mines, so I'm fairly certain that the Elementals are all being Harvested. The Bandits are here to undoubtedly stop anyone from discovering said fact to enter the Caves. This is my analysis from the Information given to me." Maverick said as he stretched his limbs slightly.

"However, we must also keep into account that the Observer could also be playing us. For all we know, we are simply Pawns. To be moved, and discarded, for a greater game. So, following that logic, we might know nothing at all."

"Thank you Maverick for explain to such a fool as me, though your analysis does not do much comforting, it is good that we have someone trying to put the pieces together." Nailos said with a faining voice. Well I shall check the others for wounds and the like, if what you say is true then every injury could slow us down and mabey even get us killed if everyone isn't in top fighting condition." Nailos wandered off and began checking up on everyone healing even the tinyest of scratches.

Kinglet looked up towards Maverick, and the look of silent contemplating that had edged itself into her face earlier, was instantly replaced by one of gratitude. A smile stretched across her lips, honest and meaningful, and all that despite the scolding tone with which he addressed her.

"I owe you," she said simply. And meant it.

Maverick looked up at the Girl and smiled slightly, while at the same time maintaining a slight playful expression. "Yes, yes you do. However, seeing as we're both allies, I don't think you should worry about that Debt for a while hmm? After all, you have nothing I want right now." He added sarcastically.

He continued, "I'm somewhat curious though, you're in a fairly dangerous mission right now. Yet the Bandit blindsided you. Why is that?" his face showing signs of Curiosity.

Kinglet's shoulders twitched.

What was she supposed to say?

Her eyes roamed the area around them, darting from one man to the next, be it 'hero' or beaten and blooded bandit. Beaten, like the crossbowman Garrant had attacked up on that slope. She tried not to look at the dead ones.

"I was distracted," she replied eventually, and it was the truth of it. There was none to blame but her, and the argument she had been having with herself whether to look for Garrant to help him, or stay put. If she had done just as he had said and not shifted her focus on the battlefield, she would have seen the bandit.

And done what? Thrown your juggling balls at him? Stab at him while he cuts you down with his sword? Run, like you always do?

Her lips twitched into a fleeting frown.

Maverick frowned slightly at the Girl's emotional display, her lip twitch and apparent brooding told him that much. She was in deep emotional....something over something. He knew that it was probably due to inexperience, but he wouldn't say that. She seemed to be....incredibly emotionally fragile for some reason. She seemed to have a ***** in her armor, evident in how her eyes roamed the surrounding area. An Emotional...lever.

The Artificer put that aside for the moment. He would get those answers, but not by acting like a Jerkass. "I see....well, I think proper Greetings are in order. My name is.....well, my name isn't really that important right now. But you can call me Maverick."

'There, let her bring that info to her...Brother? I'm sure he'll chew on that for a while.'

Nailos walked up to Maverick and Kinglet panting a little. "Wohh" he said wiping the sweet from his brow then turned too them. "Despite some trust issues I've managed to heal everyones wounds, but I think this fight has sapped everyones energy, I think perhapes we should walk out of a little ways away from view and set up a camp to rest. The others seem distracted with somethings else.." Nailos trailed off, thinking of something else but suddenly snaped back to it. "Anyways do you two agree or should we press foward? After examing everyone we would be able make it, but if there are more trials up ahead then I think it would be better to have everyone rested and ready when we face them."

edited after the last reply from Nailos
"Kay," she replied. The frown was gone and had once more given way to her usual, curious and cheerful demeanour, though mostly out of habit, not concious attempt.

"You can call me Kay," she echoed his own choice of words, and offered a somewhat challenging smirk. "Thank you. Again."

When Nailos approached, the girl looked at him. Everyone here was a stranger to her, but Nailos had, so far, shown himself to be kind enough to warrant politeness in return. She bobbed her head at him.

"I for one want to be away from here. Whether that's me marching some more or putting up camp I don't care."

Maverick nodded "Thank You Kay." he smirked as well, "Do try not to get yourself killed next time hmm?"

The Artificer glanced at Nailos and answered his question "I agree. Setting up camp here would be the best option. We don't know if there's anything worse in the times ahead, so I believe it better that we stay here for the moment and rest."

"Mh," Kinglet agreed. Both to not getting herself killed, and the camp.

And then she set out trying to find something to do. It was always good to keep yourself busy when uneasy thoughts lurked at the back of your skull.

Nailos nodded in agreement, "Good, good I brought some food from the tavern. Unfortunately I think it would be best to eat our food cold. A fire might attract unwanted attention. I know I sound pushy and over cautious but I just have a feeling that everything isn't as it seems." Nailos digged through his pack and produced some rations. "Heres your share, I will continue disrupting the rest amongst the group." Nailos walked off again to another round of care taking, He was happy to so though.

After Nailos finished passing out the food, he sat leaning himself against a rock and pulled out a worn leather bounded book and a curious corncob pipe. He sat there taking slow puffs while reading from his book. The pipe belonged to his father who used to be a great paladin but saddly fell in combat. His mother a priestess from his abby gave it to him when he left. The smell and the rich taste always brought a mixture of painful and happy memories.

I got to prove my usefulness to everyone here.. Sometimes I wish I had the strength of my father but I'm glad to carrier the kindness of my mothers soul. Besides the world sometimes need a healing hand and not a fighting one.

Maverick waved goodbye to both of them, waiting for when they would both go out of sight. He then proceeded to find a place that had both relative silence yet superior surveillance capability over the surrounding area. He found it in the form of a mound of dirt, a fairly large boulder that was planted several meters away from camp.

He sat down, resting his back to the rock, and pulled out his rifle. He didn't do anything with it just yet, preferring to leave it in lying on his lap for now. He looked up into the Heavens and saw the Stars[footnote]I'm assuming that it's night now.[/footnote]. He closed his eyes for a few moments, letting a sort of Inner Peace last over his entire body.

His form appeared that of a man at peace. The Illusion lasted for a few minutes, Maverick savored every moment of it. Eventually, as do all things, Maverick had to wake up. He opened his eyes, gazing towards the stars. He looked down at his Rifle and began to clean and repair it. Checking to see if any of the violent movements that had occurred earlier had damaged the device. Thankfully, it had not. He repeated the same thing to the Pistol, with the same results.

He pulled out his rations and began to absent-mindedly chew on them. His mind focused on his plans for the future. This Royal Observer was the Key to his Vengeance towards Horus and his Parents. All he needed was to enter the Palace where they resided and talk to several of his Family's prisoners. Once done, nothing short of Death, and event that wasn't a guarantee, would stop him from carrying out his revenge. He had thought it out in Detail. Every Variable taken into account. The only thing he needed was that the Prisoners agree, which wouldn't be that hard, and that His entire Family would be at the castle once it occurred. Of course, there are several minor details as well. Though they would all be taken cared of in the following days. Maverick would savor the exact moment in which they die.

The Artificer gasped slightly. He had finished the bread he was holding onto and had accidentally bit his own finger. Smiling ruefully, Maverick rested his head on the Rock and closed his eyes.

Isaac passes by the small girl on his way over to nailos and Fitzgerald. "I'm sorry I havent yet introduced myself, my name is Isaac, it's nice to meet you" Isaac says as he stretches out his hand to her. "I apologize for not introducing myself at the tavern. I'm glad to see that you are unharmed after all of this, as well as your friend *Isaac points to Garrant* he says smiling

Fitzgerald turned to look at nailos, his hair sparkeling under the moonlight. "Worry not, I am meant to be strong, and the wound was merely a bee's sting to me."

Nailos healed Fitzergald regardless of what he said. "Bee sting or not we need everyone here in tip top shape. Sorry that I seem over-stepping my bounds but if that injury even hindered you in the slightest it could end up being fatal to us all. Now did you also eat?"

This man may be strong, but I can't let foolish pride jeopardize everyone else here.

"The rations I ate earlier are a gift from a noble. They should sustain me for the night." He got back to polishing his breast plate and began chanting low words over it, thanking it for protecting him in the battle. Avalon stood nearby tied to a stake and eating some grasses, his silver armor shining from the moon.
