First they took out Most of the Anime, and introduced most of their homebrewed, craptacular, low budget, youtubers could do better, piece of shit lieve action or crudely animated "Comedy" Toonami soon died off too, no longer showing anime, and instead showing american cartoons. But the biggest death was how they treated their All-Star team. Powerpuff Girls. Ed, Edd & Eddy. Teen Titans. I am weasel. Chicken & Cow (Their version of Ren and Stimpy) and so much more. they took these shows, and, like fox network, the moment these greats fluctuated in viewership, they dropped em like a hot potatoe, forced them to change, or just stuffed them into a pointless timeslot.

R.I.P. Cartoon Network you shall be missed. On another note they should just make an Adult Swim channel. That would be awesome.
There's a reason it's only on at night. The bizzare rules about airing times means Adult Swim channel would be King of the Hill (one of the shows I do like watching) and anime all day, and then the "normal" adult swim things like *shudder* superjail at night. But then, having a nearly dedicated Anime channel that's not dependant on someone like Fox for their rules would rock very hard

I always thought that the new shows seemed retarded as they were simply because I had grown up, but deep down I knew what our generation had was much better. Good to hear others feel the same.

Oh my god, I hold those days of splendid animation with an almost holy respect.

It's a pity kids today will grow up without having any clever, outlandish shows to inspire their imaginations.
It's all painfully derivative reality shows with some bearded crazyman screeching at the camera for hours on end now.
what about the "cartoons" they watch now? the bland crap that's passed off as "funny" but is all violence and comedy that falls flat before the punch line, or hits the lame punchline but keeps going. And going . . . and going . . .

The shows they have kids watching today, it's no wonder some of the things on Adult swim are as viciously violent as they are yet still fall under "comedy" and are still considered "funny"
I wish people would look to the great speilberg cartoons. Great animation, great voice actors, great music, hilarious slapstick, new takes on old jokes, and jokes so subtle and yet so naughty that even adults could laugh along even as the hollywood censors cried themselves to sleep...

I personally do not like anime but I do not mean that it be a regular channel I mean make it a premium channel that you would have to pay an extra buck fifty a month. I also love Superjail.

I knew things were bad when cartoon cartoon fridays dissappeard along with dexter and the other cartoon cartoons...

Then Toonami became screwed up with the stupid looking tom robot(the one with the face, not BA space helmet one)still i held out hope that things could come back to the way the were

Then CN real appeared and toonami was cancelled...My childhood and everything good in the world died...

As for adult swim it's good the way it is now..but i remember back to all action saturdays...that was the good life...

(i'd post a video link but i don't know how)

I liked Toonami better when it was only once a week, but taking it away was awful. Sometimes I wanted to see some Anima just out of curiosity, but now *sigh* we have CN real, and all the new 2D cartoons are just scripted reality TV.

I see now . . . I'd prolly pay extra to have the channel, I'm considering getting Anime Network for the exact reason except that I get the unsettling feeling that it would all be english dubs like the rest on cable. Even the "uncensored" english dubs change things around to make them more "politically correct" in speech

(Ryoko was NOT peeing her pants from lightning . . . it was something else from the same place)

I never really liked the Cartoons the CN showed.
Having a look recently, it seems to me that a fair few of them are really quite grotesque in nature (Chowder, Billy & Mandy etc), and I really don't see the appeal in them.

Its a shame that another channel like MTV is being born, but at the end of the day, if thats what people want to watch, then who am I to say they can't.

I think I should have seen this coming when Codename: KND was introduced as a Cartoon Cartoon. I didn't like it, as it paled in comparison to Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, and the king of them all, Ed, Edd n' Eddy. Hell, even I. M. Weasel was better. And even then, we still got classic Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry.

Now we have Chowder and stupid reality TV on a network that even just TEN YEARS AGO was advertised cartoons "24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 a year, forever and ever and ever UNTIL THE END OF TIME!" Even seeing Codename on the network again would make me happy...alas, all that's left are fragments of a glorious era....reruns of Courage, Billy and Mandy, and Ed, Edd n' Eddy. At least Tom and Jerry is still one of the "classics..."

I am just waiting for the Bratz reality T.V. show to come around, starring a group of 7 year old spoiled rich girls...which inevitably will end up upon milk cartons due to the attention.
Well, they already did a live-action Bratz movie, so it's very possible that a live TV show could come along. But I think 4kids owns rights to the shit Bratz cartoon they had, so they'd probably wrangle ownership of the reality shite too.

Cartoon Network died a long time ago, when they stopped showing Loony Toons and such and began showing...well, whatever is on today, I guess.
Exactly what I was thinking... only thing left on there that I watch is King of the Hill...
