Lev snickered a little at the humongous bear drinking ale from Viktorya's hands, it was an odd sight indeed.

"So you let him drink ale? Careful what you feed him, or he might get sick." Lev said as he drank from his mug again, Tatiana still sulking with her chin to the floor and her tail moving about.

Kadence frowned as she thought over Durkon's words, then she nodded. "Okay." Kadence replied. She could wait.

She glanced around the room, hoping to spot something else that would make a suitable resting place. Sleeping in a strange bed, she was okay with. Sleeping in a bed that specifically belonged to someone she just met, a man no less, seemed...odd. During one of her previous city visits she had stayed awake late at night with the Guards on night watch duty. Kadence eyed the wooden seat Pru had sat on earlier and considered it.

Garret sent Kadence an wave of curiosity and she sighed quietly. Maybe she could view it as sleeping in an inn room that was previously occupied by a man. Kadence nodded to herself. That could work.

"Thank you for your kindness, sir." she said to the man.

"A friend of Prudence is a friend of mine, young lass. Please have a good night." Durkon took the plate and bowl Garret was eating out of and took them to the kitchen to wash.

Elsewhere, Sue was trying her best to cheer up Prudence. Her efforts were mostly ignored or simply twisted into relevance towards home. "Sue, please just stop. You aren't helping as much as you think you are." Sue chirped in response. "... And I thank you for it, but just leave me to think. ... Thank you." Sue flew over to a small nest Durkon had placed near the window. She settled in, but kept her eye on Prudence, whom had stopped crying, if only for a little while.

The directness of the question puzzled the tavern girl. What DID she want to know? She stood there dumbfounded for a moment, searching for the right answer while trying to maintain her aloof composure. Her eyes moved between the cloaked women, the cobra, and the cloaked woman again. She began to feel stupid and stuttered "Uhh, well nothing in particular I guess, you just looked like an interesting sort for a tavern such as this, what brings you here?" She replayed the words in her head, "Not to mean any offense of course, you and your companion are just as welcome here as the locals," she added, feeling more uncomfortable. It was a rare occasion for her to make this sort of conversation, and she didn't quite know how to go about articulating what she wanted to say. She smiled sheepishly.

Zestia chuckled. "What brings me here is my home. This city has been my home ever since I was a little girl. I only just returned after..."
Zestia didn't want to reveal her job as an assassin, so she thought something up quickly.
"...having visited my uncle."
Yeah, that's good enough.
"Have you been working here for a long time?" Zestia asked.

The tavern girl was surprised to hear the strange woman was a local, she had never seen her before, which made the conversation seem more awkward. She knew too well of what most of the locals were like, but still this woman seemed to resonate a different tune. "Yes I have worked in here a while, the tavern keeper is kind enough to give me work, I am an orphan from out of town," she said, repeating the knee-jerk response to the question she has been instructed to give when it arises. She suddenly felt more stupid, this woman was a local and what looked to be an intelligent one at that, she would see straight through her story. She smiled nervously and glanced back at her father who was rolling a new barrel of ale in from the back rooms. "So what do you do in a town like this?"

Viktorya poured more ale into her hand and let Ursa help himself

"What? Ursa?" She laughed at the thought "I'd say he'd disagree with that, he's a right drunkard,he just sleeps it off" She began to stroke and pat Ursa's head with renewed passion as she looked at Ursa with a loving look

"As you can imagine he's not the Sharpest sword in the armoury, aint that right Ursa? Yes it is, Yes it is, just a big cuddely idiot, awwh"

The bears mouth opened and it crained its head towards her in pleasure, enjoying the Vigorous ear scratching, unable to comprehend what she was saying but took her Playful tone as an indication that she was saying good things to him , He must've done something good he thought, pleased with himself.

"So did you come all this way South just for the festival?" she asked Lev, her gaze shifting from the bear to the man on the opposite end of the table as she used her free end to bring the Mug once more to her lips.

"I run errands out of the city. There were enough of them inside the city and they needed one for when someone needed a package or a letter sent to out of the city." Zestia didn't find it hard to avoid telling her real profession. She'd been asked a few times and always gave the same answer.
"I know I may not look like an errand girl and with a companion like this" she said, pointing to Shade, who was still looking at the two women "you wouldn't believe it. But trust me, I wouldn't harm you. And neither would he."
Unless I was given a contract to kill you. And I wouldn't hesitate to kill you because of the contract.
Zestia gave the tavern girl a smile.

Lev grinned at the sight of her scratching Ursa's ear, and the bear obviously being totally oblivious to her insulting him.

He shifted his posture a little as he looked down at the tiger lying behind him, "What do you think Tatiana, shouldn't you also act a little more cuddly at times?" He said as he pointed at Ursa, being sure that she saw it.

The tigers response, predictably, was to lay her ears flat against her head and scowl at Lev before laying her head back down on the floor, apparently acting like she'd never heard him.

He smiled at her, "Right, you'd maul me the second I tried."

At Viktorya's question he excalimed, "Hah! No, frankly I couldn't care less about the celebration. It only serves to keep me here longer, waiting until the shops open up again."

He leaned a bit forward again, resting his arms against the edge of the table. "I'm just here to buy some medical supplies and the like, the kind of which they don't import to the north. One could say that there's not much of a market there for them. And you?"

A courier? Touche. thought the tavern girl, and smiled politely, knowing full well that her own little lie was reciprocated with another. The tavern girl knew she had her own reasons to lie, which caused her to wonder what motive the strange woman had, further fueling her curiosity. "Well then, I'll let you get back to your drink," she said timely, noting her fathers dusting off his hand's having successfully placed the new barrel of ale in place. She nodded her head to the woman, and resumed her tavern rounds.

"Thank you." Zestia said. Shade looked after the tavern girl, then at Zestia, then he lay down on the floor.
Zestia sat there for a little while before standing up. "Come, Shade. We must be on our way." Zestia walked out of the tavern and Shade slithered after her. Before Zestia continued further, she picked Shade up and put him on her shoulders again. He coiled himself around her neck like before, being careful not to choke her. Zestia began walking again. The heat didn't bother her too much. She sometimes seemed to be as cold blooded as her companion, which came in handy when going to some hot or cold place.

Sai had enjoyed herself in the tavern sure she hadn't gotten out much, but just the atmosphere of the Tavern had kept her entertained. "Serving Girl, one more moment of your time!" She called as Kia stood up sensing Sai's intent.

The tavern girl swerved to meet her call, again to face the woman with the guard sword and her fox companion. "What would you like?" She inquired.

"Sorry for drawing you away from your conversation again. Just want to say thanks for the hospitality. And Give you a little something." Sai said pulling out a handful of coins. She quickly grabbed four sliver coins. "Two for the ale and the water. And two for you, ya seem to have it hard around here, being the only Waitress. So get yourself something nice." She said putting the silver into the girls hands. "I'll be seeing ya." She said with a wave and a whistle to Kia, who instantly followed. She walked out the door and towards the barracks.

"Well that was fun eh, Kia?" The fox yipped in agreement. "C'mon let's get home and get some sleep before our shift tonight." Sai said as she began to jog to the barracks.

There Sam sat, all alone with Echo. He felt tired. He yawned and rubbed his yes, "Hey Echo, im kinda sleepy. Wanna get a room here? From what I hear, they are all free." Sam looked at Echo, and Echo glanced back. Echo hooted 4 times, "Hoot hoooot-hoot hoot." that was usually yes when Sam was speaking to Echo, so he grabbed the jesse that was on Echo's foot and yanked it. Echo flew up to Sam's shoulder and latched on.

Sam yawned again. As much as he wanted to give the waitress some money, he couldn't. So he would have to try and get away with this one. He stood up and started walking towards some stairs. Then he remembered something, Am I supposed to ask for a room? He sighed, and walked up to the waitress, "Uh, hi again. This might sound pretty stupid of me to ask, but uh, who do I ask if I want to ask to get a room?"

The tavern girl stood there in disbelief, never had she been given a tip before. She didn't know what to say. "Th-thank you," she stammered, looking around to see if anyone else had noticed the good deed, but more importantly, if her father had noticed, in case it was punishable for some reason, but fortunately he was no where to be seen, probably around the back. She poked the two coins, still warm from the hands of the woman with the sword, into her pocket before her father returned. She watched the pair leave. Perhaps I was wrong, she thought to herself, she is too kind to be a thief.

The waitress's pondering gaze was broken by a voice behind her, startled, she turned around to see the strange boy in the deerskin jacket, who had just asked her something about lodging. "Uh..." She started, still lost in thought about the woman with the sword, "There is an inn down the road," she said, trying to be helpful but having never actually walked out the front door of the tavern before, could not be too sure of its exact location. Embarrassed by her unsatisfactory answer, she adverted her gaze, and instead fixed her eyes on his owl companion. Again, the familiarity of the bird bothered her. She pushed away the uneasy feelings and smiled at the boy. "Good luck finding it! I hope you enjoyed your stay!"

Receiving no answer from Viktorya, Lev concluded with the fact that she couldn't hear him over the voices and cheering of the other patrons and instead leaned over in his chair to look out at the darkening street through the window.

He smirked and drained the rest of his ale, 'Odd... I didn't think I'd been here for that long. But then again, it's been a while since I last visited a tavern, and the atmosphere certainly does make one forget the time.'

He gestured to the door, motioning that he was about to leave to Viktorya, and slammed three silver down on the table. "Hey, Waitress!" Lev pointed down at the silver as he got to his feet, "Here's your payment!"

Tatiana raised her head when Lev's chair got pushed back and growled at him, still being less than happy about not getting any meat.

He walked over to the door, clapping his hand on his leg twice. "Come now, Tatiana. We're leaving."

Tatiana looked up at him, and not really wanting to move from her current space, wrapped her paws in front of her and rested her head on them.

Lev sighed, "Tatiana, come with me. I'll get you some meat before we turn in for the night."

She looked up from her place on the floor, scowling at him as she pondered if this could also be a trick like before. But she didn't really have to much to loose, and at least this would get her away from the building heat, and that dimwitted bear. And so she got to her feet, and stalked her way through the patrons, who quite understandably made way for her.

Lev smiled slightly at her as they both walked over to the inn, first ordering some meat and more water for Tatiana, and a little bread and salted meat for Lev. And then going to bed when the evening meal was done with.

Badelin reckoned it would be about time to leave the tavern and go check up on Dax before going to get a room for the night at the inn on the opposite side of the road. So he got up from the table and made his way outside unnoticed.

Once outside, he began slowly walking towards the inn's door but with the corner of the eye, he noticed a small object coming fast towards him. He quickly blocked with his left vambrace and then looked in the direction from which the rock was thrown. The culprit was a drunken patron with his 3 friends.

"You, stranger!" said the drunken "We don' like you' kind 'round here, get out o'our city!"

Badelin could only hear "We don' like you' kind 'round here....", a line he was way too familiar with. It unblocked a deep hatred in his heart.

But he didn't exteriorized his feelings. "Leave me, now" he said with a calm attitude.

"Well if you ain't gonna leave on your own, then we'll have to help ya, don't we lads? Get him!"

They all rushed towards Badelin but utilizing his companion's speed and endurance, he got out of their way before they even notice.

"Hey, where did he go?" said one of them. But Badelin was quick to answer by punching him in the back of the head, immediately knocking him unconscious. Unfortunately this allowed one of the three remaining drunks to sneak behind Badelin and grab him. The one who threw the rock seized this opportunity to punch him in the face but the assassin anticipated the punch and moved his head to the side making the rock thrower to hit his mate in the face, getting released. As soon as he got free from the grip, Badelin gave the drunk who grabbed him an elbow to the face, making him run with a broken and badly bleeding nose.

After seeing this, the two remaining drunks fled away in fear of getting hurt. Badelin then climbed up a building and pursued both of them from rooftop to rooftop get a better view and making sure that he will not loose them. Unfortunately one of them managed to get away so he could only catch the drunk who threw the rock. He took a wrong turn and stumbled upon a dead end. He tried to run the other way but Badelin jumped down from the rooftop from which he was watching, blocking his escape. When the drunk saw that there was no were to run, he got extremely frighted. "C-c-c-come on, PLEASE, we were only joking!"

But the assassin began to walk towards him, untouched by what he just heard.

When he got close to the drunk, he used one of his many fighting combos to knock him down. Then he got on top of him, making sure to immobilize the drunk so he would in no way escape. The drunk began to yell out for help but Badelin then began to continuously hit him in the face with a stoic, stern look, stopping him from screaming. In immense pain, the drunk raised his hand and touched his cheek in a sign of utter desperation and a beg to stop. But Badelin got the hand out of his way and continued to brutally hit im."Scum...wretched... pathetic... useless... who deserve only to die!" was all that he could think. But then, all of a sudden he stopped. Looking at the severely wounded, would-be opponent, he could only see a hopeless, desperate, completely frighted man with no more will to fight back or hope of living.

What he did was enough. He got off the man and ran straight into the crowd, rapidly making his way back to the inn. When he got there, he went straight to Dax and embraced him. After making sure that the stallion was ok, he got a room as quickly as he could and went to sleep.

Zestia noticed a man fighting three drunks. He moved with great speed which didn't seem to affect him much. When they got out of her sight, she just continued walking.

It's starting to get a little dark.

She kept walking, looking for her home. Her father was sure to be there when she'd return. She was amazed by the cheering of the crowd, all gathered for the celebration. She wouldn't be participating in the joyous cheers of the others. She never liked big crowds of people. She turned a corner and saw her and her father's house. She walked towards it and entered.

"Father! I'm home!" Zestia called.
"Zestia! Welcome back home!" Landon called and walked towards his daughter. He gave her a big hug which she returned.
"I assume it went well?" he asked.
"I'm alive, aren't I?" she said with a chuckle. "Yes, it went well. No one noticed me and I'm quite sure no one found the body until I was long gone."
"That's good to hear. Now, it's getting late. Let's go and train for a little while, then head to bed."
"Alright." Zestia followed her father to their backyard where a little training field was. Zestia and Landon trained for about an hour or so, then went inside to eat. They talked while eating, then when they were done, they headed to their separate rooms and went to sleep.
