To the people saying milk does/doesn't come in bags, it does but its only available in the eastern provinces.

OT: The economy is pretty good, the people are pretty good, it's all just good all around. One thing you should probably realize, if it wasn't obvious already, is that Canada is pretty open to... Pretty much everything, so the country rarely ever has any big divisions minus the whole French/English thing.

I would highly recommend Alberta, Ontario, or even Quebec in terms of where to live.

Move to the U.K! Tis a wonderous land of opportunities and remarkable people; coupled with a delightful weather pattern and a completely gorgeous approach to immigration, with free council housing in a completely exciting and random part of a city of your choice!

hurdur.

I live in Winnipeg and winters get to like -40 C while summers get to +40 C. So don't move to Winnipeg lol.
Places like southern Ontario and BC are really warm and temperate though (Canada isn't ALL snow), so if you hate cold you should look for a city in those areas.

But aside from weather and scenery there isn't much that is different about Canada.

Plus we have LoadingReadyRun!

After I graduate from college I want to try living and working somewhere new that isn't in the United States. I figure easiest transition would be Canada, and I absolutely adore most the music that comes out of there. Besides that though I have nothing really to go on or any particular draw to the country.

So convince me, Canada! Why should I come live in your fine country? Or why not?

If you hate Canada, where else do you think would be a good place to live?
Come live in British Columbia, particularly along the coast, as it is the most beautiful place in the world - especially right now.

You don't necessarily have to be rich to live in Vancouver, but its an amazing city if you are. I'd recommend staying the hell out of Saskatchewan, or New Brunswick or any of the eastern coastal provinces (EXCEPT FOR QUEBEC. QUEBEC IS AWESOME) ; you'll be driven crazy.

You will also need to spend a bit of time in driving school to get your license to drive your bear.

Because we are awesome at hockey. Suck it USA!
Agreed

It's called Healthcare, Cooler Weather, Better Quality Food, We having amazing wilderness. Canada as a whole is alot more left wing than the states and I find that we're very laid back about drugs, atleast around the Vancouver area. Loading Ready Run is here in Canada too, they live in Victoria (BC's Capital) on Vancouver Island.

I would say move to BC. The forests and mountain ranges are pretty awesome. Stay out of Vancouver though if your not rich.

A one room apartment, and i mean ONE ROOM with only a toilet and no shower, apartments are around 1000 a month with no utilities. Where as the city i live in an apartment worth 1000 a month is two bedrooms at least as well has a sauna and a pool on the roof.
Lol wut? Double Post! Yeah I had to comment on what this Gentlemen said, as I know someone who is renting a 2 bedroom apartment with a office, living room, 2 bathrooms, Kitchen, and a nice deck for not much more than 1000 a month. It also has a pretty rad pool on the ground floor

Well if you don't mind learning a bit of a new language I would say Montreal is the best city in the country, but most people don't like learning French. In any case I live in Canada and I love it, a lot of it isn't as interesting as the States because it is less populated and not nearly as densely packed. We have all kinds of food, we're friendly for the most part, we get good music passing through the country, don't know what more to say.

Side note: Don't move to Ottawa, it's small and boring here.

I do not approve of this, too many educated people leave their country for employment elsewhere, it's called brain drain and it hurts the country you came from.
so you would stay in your country and get a job there, when you could get an equally good or better job somewhere else?

just to help your country.....

Yes.
Do you have a problem with that?
No.
But i find it strange that you would lay aside a better job or better life for the economic wellbeing of your country, which will be fine without you anyway. (assuming not every educated person in said country departs)

Freedom above all is what i believe in.

Um, no, it doesn't.
Some parts it does!

Also isn't the West Edmonton mall the biggest in the world?
Naw, used to be. Although, in the mall is one of the top ten fastest roller coasters in the world. And, to excite you even more, it still breaks down and people die sometimes! Wait, is that a selling point?

And yeah, I have been vehemently told that some places the milk is in bags. Never saw the point to that.

Your players are good but your teams still suck! Sr. Stanley's been in the States so long we're going to have to give him citizenship!

(P.S.-There are no words to describe my hatred of Sidney Crosby)

Well OP I'm in a similar situation to you. Except I'm Irish and planning to go there as there are a crap ton more employment opportunities.

Just a quick question to the canadian posters. How are the Irish viewed in Canada?

I don't know.... If I decided to move out of the states, I'd move south to Mexico, or maybe further. It helps when you speak spanish...

How small is an atom?
One atom may seem rather insignificant but the entire planet is made of them and the planet is huge.

In other words, small things add up.
Still i think your own happiness should stand above the economic wellbeing of your country.
it's a senseless sacrifice in my eyes.

But yeah, i realise i am far less nationalistic than you, and our views differ quite a bit because of it.
