Because we are awesome at hockey. Suck it USA!
Your players are good but your teams still suck! Sr. Stanley's been in the States so long we're going to have to give him citizenship!

(P.S.-There are no words to describe my hatred of Sidney Crosby)
What about the fact that most of the American teams have canadians as more than half their rosters anyway, even the recent Stanley cup champs.

And we won in the Olympics too.

You seem to be unaware that most of the American teams have canadians as more than half their rosters anyway, even the recent Stanley cup champs.

And we won in the Olympics too.
Perfectly aware. That's why I said good players, bad teams. And the winning championship goal was shot by an American.
And I hate Crosby because of the Olympics.
I go to Canada twice a year, and all my Canadian friends harass me because I'm a hockey fan. I get harassed for the Olympics, but my home town won the cup. I don't care if most of the NHL is Canadian, I gotta come back with something. Even if I live in denial.

Why go to Canada, I mean litterly what is up there?
Well... For starters, in Canada, we have people that know how to spell literally.

The greatest back-yard ever. From massive mountains, to perfectly flat prairies, to the Great Lakes and the Canadian Shield in Western Ontario. Manitoba has the prairies, a 400m peninsula, an actual desert, and incredible lakes. I guess to sum it up, Canada has some great outdoor locations for camping, hiking, canoeing, etc.

Free Health Care :D

Great Hockey.

Leniency on underage alcohol use, haha.

I really don't know... I'm at a point where there is so much to put, I can't put anything.
Well you have a point on the hokey and beer, the western US has some great outdoors activitys as well(can't say to much for back east because I have never been there. Honestly the only thing I hold against Canada is it's form of government(then again the US is goverments is just as bad so eh).

Hmm, moving abroard for the music? Anyway, Canada seems to be more "laid back" in general and more liberal.
This statement alone is enough to get me excited, especially since I'm coming from the American Southeast, AKA the heavily conservative, morally oppressive Bible Belt.
then ull love canada. were all laid back and dont really care about much, cept for hockey.

Canada's pretty good.

Although for me, I'd rather move to US. Or at least have some kind of dual citizenship. Owning guns for the win... and as long as it's not some kind of redneck bible-thumper state it couldn't possibly be all that bad.

We have the best banking system in the world, which means our economy didn't get crushed by the banking meltdown and we've already mostly recovered.

I would say move to BC. The forests and mountain ranges are pretty awesome. Stay out of Vancouver though if your not rich.

A one room apartment, and i mean ONE ROOM with only a toilet and no shower, apartments are around 1000 a month with no utilities. Where as the city i live in an apartment worth 1000 a month is two bedrooms at least as well has a sauna and a pool on the roof.
Lol wut? Double Post! Yeah I had to comment on what this Gentlemen said, as I know someone who is renting a 2 bedroom apartment with a office, living room, 2 bathrooms, Kitchen, and a nice deck for not much more than 1000 a month. It also has a pretty rad pool on the ground floor
I have several friends and my brother looking for apartments in Vancouver and the Vancouver area. That's the prices they have told me with the sizes.

I do not approve of this, too many educated people leave their country for employment elsewhere, it's called brain drain and it hurts the country you came from.
Not all of us can be doing with the idiots in our own country though. If only there were an international super-state for the world's intellectuals to live in...

What? I can dream.

As I am indifferent to Canada, all I can do to contribute to this topic is say that the people seem fairly friendly, and a lot of great musicians come from there...

If you get into £30,000 debt from a university degree, i think you've earned the right to work elsewhere. Plus people come into the country to work, it all works out, until you cap immigration.

Well OP I'm in a similar situation to you. Except I'm Irish and planning to go there as there are a crap ton more employment opportunities.

Just a quick question to the canadian posters. How are the Irish viewed in Canada?
Honestly? Probably the same as we view the English, Swiss, Russians, Australians, etc. You're a modern country, you just talk with a different accent, like everyone else in Canada.

Um, no, it doesn't.
Yes it does.

Let me put it this way: if you are a pot smoking gay militant hipster who drinks milk from a bag and wears sandals, we're totally okay with that.
*sigh*

Milk comes in bags in Ontario, in Alberta and BC it comes in Cartons and Jugs.

After I graduate from college I want to try living and working somewhere new that isn't in the United States. I figure easiest transition would be Canada, and I absolutely adore most the music that comes out of there. Besides that though I have nothing really to go on or any particular draw to the country.

So convince me, Canada! Why should I come live in your fine country? Or why not?

If you hate Canada, where else do you think would be a good place to live?
Public healthcare,
generally liked by the rest of the world (NO OFFENSE AMERICA >_< )
more laid back
people are nicer (apparantly, but the only other placed I've lived is UK so...)
and we have better beer apparantly (Don't drink so /shrug)
Hockey
a nicer gaming climate (if the UK is to be believed :p)
