Not my idea originally, but I used to have a friend obsessed with a tremendously powerful weapon design - The BearTrap Gun.
It fires bear traps. At people. To hurt them.

Ok so it's fairly powerful.

My idea is called "The Edu-tainment Cannon." Basically it makes learning fun! By forcing anyone hit with it to answer trivia questions, logic problems and math equations every time they reload. You'd watch the average IQ of the Halo players jump 55 points.

A top loading crossbow. It would be small enough to be held in one hand, and have a rack above the currently loaded bolt containing bolts to be loaded. The bowstring would spring back quickly after firing, so that the weapon can be used much like the pistol from Half Life 2, except more suited for medium range combat, than short.

The bolt rack above would hold 12 bolts, plus one ready and loaded for a "magazine size" of 13.

Perhaps for boss battles, a fire attachment could be added, so that bolts, covered in pitch, get fired through a flame at the front end, catching on fire as they get launched.

Also I'd be up myself enough to give it some metaphorical, avant garde name, like "Love", or "Hope".

Surely you've played as China from Age of Empires 2...

I like you're idea of a weapon that kicks someone from the game, although if it ever existed in the game, it's probably annoy the living shit out of people (imagine getting kicked out of game for no reason......over and over again.) So here's my idea: a "shut-up" gun.

When you fire it at someone, they become muted, and can't communicate with their teammates. This would be a devilish kind of weapon in a team based game like Counterstrike, but for games like Halo 3, where half the players are moronic 12 year old retard who won't shut up, such a gun is absolutely necessary!

Aw crap. The second I think I've come up with something original it turns out the Chinese were 500 years ahead of me.

Back to work on the Flak Pistol again I suppose.
