okay my creepy moments arent that creepy. i also see faces outside my windows sometimes. but just for a quarter of a second. but the most creepy moment ever must be this: i was walking to school like every early morning. the route is pretty easy and the school is only a couple of blocks away. so i recognize everybody on the way. and then i hear this strange messed up laugh like sound from behind me. and when i was about to turn around a guy bumbs into me. he turned around and he looks at me for a second, and then he says "look where you are going" he was very pale and had rotten teeth. i apologise to him. and he laughs with that weird laughing sound i heard. and he then hurries away. goes into a small side road. and when i go past he is gone.i could still hear him laugh, but it sounded like it came from somewhere above. and im talking about 5 seconds time between he turned in there and i walked past. well thats it.

I feel lucky I tend not to experience these things.

Though one time whilst I was staying at a friends house we'd walked over to another friends house that was close by, heading back in the pitch black, we looked up and noticed a Harvest moon, which thinking back, I'm fairly sure was out of season. My friend being a fan of the film Jeepers Creepers (I can't stomach horror, even this thread makes me feel paranoid) told me something about it I really didn't need to know. We sprinted all the way back to his house and locked the doors.

I just think its lucky I'm not taller or I could become some sort of unexplained mystery. I'm extremely thin and have long, dark hair that can obscure my face completely if I don't brush it back, luckily at 5'7" I'm not really much of a threat.

Oh, and I sat on a Highwayman's unmarked grave once, someone claimed they saw a ghost afterwards but I guess he wasn't too annoyed with me. It was a comfortable rock too.

I have one that comes to mind [nothing big]

At night I often let my mind wander and because of this I usually think of scary stuff, my closet door is missing a door, so when my mind thinks of something scary I'll usually see something like a face or figure in the shadows of my closet, scares me every time.

It's even scarier for me because I keep my door closed and the only light comes from a very dim red glow of a small lava lamp

And another [also nothing big]

early yesterday morning I heard either a knock or my door bell ring [my mind is a bit fuzzy]
when I got to the door no one was there, my neighborhood doesn't have children so it wasn't ding-dong-ditch, we weren't expecting any packages, there isn't any reason someone should have came to our door, so I figured screw it and went on as always.

Also I more often then not I hear stuff too. [like half the people on this thread have already said]

and as a side note: you people have now made me paranoid for a little while, thanks a lot... (it's still and awesome thread though and I can't wait to read more)

edit: oh yeah, one night I heard a gunshot.. yeah.. doesn't sound scary when I word it like that.

Okay, I got one!

---

Late one cold night, it was just me home alone, with the cat. I was walking through the kitchen, which leads on to the sun room through french double-doors, which then leads into the garage. I heard a very distinctive "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK" coming from within the garage, with one of those familiar rhythms we humans use for knocking. I called out "Hello? Hello...? Is someone there?" but there was no response.

I went and grabbed a wooden club, and sat on my couch in the living room, with my cat next to me. After a minute or two, I heard the same sound - "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK". Even the cat sat up and stared at the window, startled.

Returned house-mates found me asleep on the couch at 4 AM, weapon still in hand.

And to this day, I still do not know who knocked.

Wow, this thread is awesome. Thank God it's midday when i read all of this since a lot of these posts are really scary. Too bad i haven't had any creepy encounters or such, only a few spooky dreams and other petty stuff like that.

o_o damn what's with all of you people seeing Shadow People. Anyways creepiest thing that happened to me was I was on holiday in the Philippines, and was staying in my family. One night, I think it was around like 1am or something I was awoken, not by sound or anything like that but by this "feeling". I'm facing the wall away from the door and I notice that there's the shadow of a woman on the wall, thing is, the rest of my family was out that night and I was alone in the house. Hell I couldn't move, or scream or do anything. Just stare at the shadow. It then proceeded to "fade" away. Hell I couldn't sleep at all. <_<
Sleep Paralysis ;D

It's when you're mind wakes up but your body's still asleep. A lot of people get creepy hallucinations during it, usually seeing an old woman or feeling like you're being dragged off the bed.

I had it really bad once where i woke up in SP and started hearing what was truly the creepiest music ever. It was like something from a kids show but distorted, i could even hum the tune for a few hours afterwards but I've forgotten it since.

Something that happened two days ago while on escapist.
I was looking at a scary bug thread and at that point I was pretty creeped out already. Then a small fly flew up my nose, nearly scared me shitless!

Seeing a face at my window while playing a game.

I freaked out, went white and ran out of the room. When I came back, it was gone and there was no sign of anyone outside. No foot prints, no nothing.
That is some really freaky stuff... My reaction probably would have been a bit different personally, but that's beside the point.

I'm starting to feel rather boring, actually; I've never had anything like that happen to me. Only mundane stuff that I found strange personally but others would just shrug off.

Another creepy thing, is that when my parents arnt home (especially when my sister isn't there either) I hear the floor creaking like when someone walks on it, sounds of cars driving up the laneway, the phone ringing, and worst of all, my Mom calling my name.... no joke
The floor could be explained by temperature changes as the floor expanded and contracted with changing temperatures. Cars driving up the laneway might just be people being douchebags and using it to turn around. Not sure about the phone ringing, but if the phone isn't actually ringing then that is very weird. Same thing applies if cars aren't actually driving up the laneway.

Well, I have to deal on a regular basis with someone who is apparently trying to become me.

I often hear people pacing around downstairs at night when I know for a fact that everyone else is asleep. I really don't know what that's about.

That's about it, but the first of these is by far the worst. He's even started taking my name now... not my first name (that's the same anyway, although I wish it wasn't. I hate my name), but my alias.

I am genuinely unnerved when I'm around him now.

Few creepy things happen to me.

I guess the 'creepiest' thing that ever happenned was when I was at home on my onw quite late at night when the power went out. Weirdly, so did my laptop, iPod and phone, plus the clocks all stopped.

That's not particularly creepy really. I happen to know that no one died in or near my house, a murderer never lived here and we don't have indian burial grounds in this country.

Goddamnit, now I can sleep tonight. And the parents are going away too.

Though nothing 'creepy' has ever happened to me. I have walked through a dark forrest, alone, without something even happen. Only just the regular forrest noises. No silhouettes or something like that. (though it's really not recommended to do that >.<)

I don't believe in ghosts or anything, though I wish they existed somehow.

Oh god, this is a good one.

Some time ago, I lived someplace on the east coast of America. One day I was wandering around, when I saw what looked like a pretty deserted basketball court. Deserted, that was, except for a single basketball. Me being the inquisitive sort, I picked it up and threw it. Pretty poor throw; it hit the rim and bounced off into a shadowy area. OK - here's where it gets weird. No less than a few seconds after the ball disappeared, three men dressed in black stepped out from behind a building. They looked odd, and they told me in a bizzare dialect to go away and never return. I turned around and fled, not looking back.

I told my mom later.

She said I was to move in with some relatives in Bel Air.
