I used to have the same nightmare once a month, from around the ages of 8-12 years old. But as I got older I didn;t have the nightmare as often so by the time I was 12 I was only experiencing it every 7-8 months.

Anyway, In the nightmare I am sat in school (I was still in primary school whne this happened) and I heard the bell ring. So I got up, walked out of the class and exited through the front doors. I was the only one at school and it was at night, but that didn't seem to bother me... Its when I set off walking home that I hear a something growl, but when I look behind me there is nothing; just the empty school. As I continue home I walk past some really random places which are not on the way home from school, but I guess thats kind of because of the whole dream thing. But as I walk home on my own with no one else in sight I continue to hear this growling...

Eventually I begin running as the growling gets louder and happens more often. When I am only a few steps away from my house I turn around again, but before I see the thing growling at me I wake up. I always wake up out of breath and covered in sweat. Everytime it happened it was after I had a rather bad da,. but by the time I realised this I stopped having the nightmare.

But, about 2 months ago, on the night after my dog died and I was pritty upset I had the dream again. However, at the end of the nightmare I turned around to see my dog which had died that same day, and it didn;t feel like a nightmare anymore. Also, remembering that I am 16 now (15 when I experienced the dream with my dog in it), it still began in my primary school but I was now 15.

Finally though, when I woke up I wasn't at all scared, and I wansn't out of breath or sweaty :S But what really creeped me out was that I then remembered something very specific in the dream which I had never though of before. When I look at the board in the school the date says 28/2/2010. This was the date my dog died and I am sure this was always in my nightmare/dream. Explanations????

when i was a child i got lost in a crowd from my mother and an old man helped me. now, you may say that this is not creepy, and i thought the same until i saw the movie poltergeist 2. the man looked EXACTLY like the evil bloke in the film, i had actually forgot about getting lost until i watched that movie, even my mam was remembered what he looked like and was terrified.

Oh god, this is a good one.

Some time ago, I lived someplace on the east coast of America. One day I was wandering around, when I saw what looked like a pretty deserted basketball court. Deserted, that was, except for a single basketball. Me being the inquisitive sort, I picked it up and threw it. Pretty poor throw; it hit the rim and bounced off into a shadowy area. OK - here's where it gets weird. No less than a few seconds after the ball disappeared, three men dressed in black stepped out from behind a building. They looked odd, and they told me in a bizzare dialect to go away and never return. I turned around and fled, not looking back.

I told my mom later.

She said I was to move in with some relatives in Bel Air.
I have nightmares about being hunted by cabs that say "Fresh" on the plate and have dice in the mirror...

Seeing a face at my window while playing a game.

I freaked out, went white and ran out of the room. When I came back, it was gone and there was no sign of anyone outside. No foot prints, no nothing.
No fucking way! Being completely serious, the same thing happened to me. This one time two years ago I was watching TV and in my peripheral vision there was a window and for a second I saw a face staring at me. I damn near shat my pants. I ran outside...no one there. Idk if it was the mind playing tricks or if someone really was there.
Similar story: Big Jesus pic (my family used to be religious) at the end of a long short hallway. Bad light and I would see a strange reflection. The light gets a little better and I can vaguely see some bearded guy staring back at me...creepy. It got moved.

Damn, somebody already beat me to making a "Fresh Prince" reference. Well, +1 swiftness to you sir.

I've moved house about 15 times in my life, but there's one that sticks out in my mind because of some creepy things that happened there.

It was one of about 10 brand new houses that had been built, so no one had been in there except the blokes who built it. Me and my mom were walking up the stairs one day, me in front. When I got to the top, a little red cellophane fish floated from the ceiling. We just stopped and watched it fall. I remember turning to my mom and seeing her face, wide eyed and totally bemused, because neither of us knew where it had come from.
A while later, we were in the kitchen and the same thing happened again, a red cellophane fish floated to the ground seemingly out of nowhere.

I was about 6 when this happened. Around the same time, I was lying in bed, drifting off to sleep when out of nowhere I felt this soft little touch on the back of my head. I sat bolt upright, more shocked than scared. I investigated the gap between my pillow and my headboard in-case someone was underneath my bed or something, but of course there was nothing there. I didn't tell my mother about it until years later, and it turns out both my mother and my grandmother have both had experiences like this, where they've felt something touch them on the shoulder. That's 3 generations of women in my family that have had the exact same creepy thing happen to them at some point.

Since we moved from that house I haven't had anything creepy or scary happen to me at all. Oh, apart from about a month ago, when I was kept awake til 4 am by a buzzing noise that no other person in my house could hear. But I consider this more "annoying" than "creepy".

Here's one that's not supernatural.

I was walking back to my car after a night of checking out bands, it was about 2am. On the way to my car, I notice three guys standing in the otherwise-deserted street. I go to walk past them to my car. One of them says "if you're parked in that car park, I wouldn't go in there right now if I were you", indicating a car park behind him to the left (not the one my car was in, fortunately). I ask "okay, why?" He says "someone's just been killed back there". I said "oh shit... okay then, thanks", crossed the street, got in my car and got the hell out of there. Later on I wondered if they were good samaritans waiting for the police to arrive, or guards sent by someone else to make sure no-one came through and witnessed or disturbed a murder scene while it was being "cleaned up". I don't walk down that street anymore.

There was a time when I was riding in car with my sister on the way to school like almost every other day. Only this time we felt a huge thump on the side of the car. My sister freaked out because she thought she hit someone. We pulled over and looked around but there wasn't anyone for miles. Although when we checked the side of the car, there was a small dent on the outside door with a clearly visible handprint of dust in the middle of the dent. To this day we have no idea how it happened.

Once when I was singing in the kitchen (I like to sing while washing dishes) I turned around and saw a really angry looking man there, with dark eyebrows. I squeaked and blinked, then he was gone...

I've seen him like 3 times, and the creepiest thing is he looks like my Uncle, who passed away when I was way younger.
His ashes were scattered near our house too... *whimper*

Doesn't sound very scary, but at the time, that floor of the old building was abandoned. And I was later told that there is supposedly a ghost haunting that floor...
My old school was supposedly haunted, because rumour had it some homeless guy was killed by some off-duty soldiers or police officers, then it was covered up by their superiors. There was an abandoned basement that anyone could walk into, supposedly the scene of the crime. We went to check out the spot where someone was allegedly murdered, and found a large bloodstain on the floor and wall.
Heh, both schools that I've been too were meant to be haunted. Apparently in the first school, people kept getting struck by lightning, and one woman fell off the bell tower. (This was all rumours) I gotta admit the school does look creepy at night... But we never heard anything.

My second school was meant to be haunted too, I never got to hear all the rumours, but it's supposedly the 4th most haunted place in my city. O-o

Edit: I had to stop reading this thread on the 3rd page because I swear my blinds keep on moving... I'm so so glad it's daytime.
I even put my glasses on to make sure xD

One morning when I was eight, I woke up and my parents told I had been screaming the previous night about a clown of some kind. I never remembered any instance of even waking up or dreaming the previous night.

I also apparently sleep with my eyes open and speak "clearly but not with words" when I sleep. So maybe I'm just really weird...

Probably just a false memory. It might have been in your dream the last time you had it but it wouldn't have been before, which is why you hadn't thought about it before then.

It happens a lot with dreams, they're usually quite hard to remember in detail so your brain sort of makes up memories.

I was with a couple of friends in the city, on a street that we all knew fairly well. It was one of those streets that just has shops up and down it, and we were walking along the sidewalk, browsing, when we came to a gothic-style door that none of us had ever seen before. Curious, the three of us went inside and found a dimly lit shop with stuff piled all over the counters and against the walls. Strange things, like stone gargoyles and civil war relics and all kinds of old, odd artifacts, but the things that freaked me out were the paintings leaning against the wall. The colors were really washed-out, and there were layers upon layers of paint. They seemed to be faces, and the artist must have done some kind of sculpture underneath because the faces seemed to be coming out of the painting, like that ghost came out of the wall in The Frighteners. After looking around the shop for a few minutes, my friends and I left. I've since been back to that street quite a few times, but I haven't ever seen that shop or the door leading to it again.
You fool! You obviously found the entrance to Diagon Alley.

OT. I haven't really had anything wierd happen to me, I get quite alot of Deja vu but never really had anything that I couldn't explain.

Ever tried walking about 5 kilometres in a forest, at night, with pretty much no light at all (it was cloudy) while listening to that kind of music that makes you think you hear stuff that's not part of the song? It's creepy. :D

I've never figured this one out. I was only 8 or so, and I was hanging about outside my school with a friend while my parents were inside at a parents' evening thingy. It was winter, so it was already dark, and up in the sky I see two lights. They look like they're attatched to either end of an object, and they pass overhead in total silence, like there was some kind of aircraft swooping really low over us. I backed off, and they were gone when I looked back...

The only other thing was when I was 15. I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of really loud, heavy breathing coming from the wall right beside my head. I heard my dad coming upstairs, so I called him in to see if he could hear it too. He could. We eventually looked out the window and heard that the noise was coming from the forest about 150 meters away from my house, but the noise was still really loud. never did find out what it was.
