Cyber bullying

Cyber bullying is a tad different than what some of the posters think, the bully in question normally knows the victim and threatens them via email or text that the next day at school/park/mars that they'll beat the shit out of them. Not everyone is physically strong enough to stand up to the bullies (or maybe not willing to go far enough to stop them) so perhaps some folks can grow a brain and think before they call others cowards.

Never been cyber bullied, was bullied once in Secondary school (high school) but that lasted a day until I showed him the door.

I find it moronic that there have been suicides caused by cyber bullying..

If it were happenning to me, it would probably go something like this:

Idiot: I know where you live.
Me: Orly?
Idiot: Yeah, Im gonna come round and kill you. You pathetic scum!

If you on the internet, it's sort of inevitable you will be "cyber bullied" because some one will always call you a fag, because they think gay is bad. Because they are stoopid. If you cannot take a person with an IQ in double digits call you fag. get of the internet, it will make you cry.

The problem with cyberbullying is that usually the person will be bullying you off the internet as well. For example pretend you're 10 years old again. Now pretend in school every day somone or some group never leave you alone and bladdhy bladdhy blah we all know what normal bullying is. Now imagine you finally come home and are given piece. And then that same person starts sending you texts, e-mails etc. You'd feel pretty bad. So no "Grow a pair!" is not an appropriate result.

Then you mute them or block them, then it's bullying which is bad, cyber bulling is a stupid concept. Bullying on the other hand is serious and I propose running a drill bit between the eyes of the cocks that do it.

It's not necessarily just on the internet. And last time I checked you can't block people on your phone.

I'm fairly certain you can, or just not read the texts, besides what emotion do words carry? It's hard enough to convey emotion without poetry or song, harder still with just written, how is it possible in "txt spk". Also why would you give them your number?

i don't know wtf happens in other countries but i've never ever EVER experienced or seen bullying in younger years (~10) what fucked up country are you all living in?

Umm Ireland. And I've seen it a lot younger in pretty much every country. For example I was bullied in school when I was 11-12 by a group of assholes with no brains. However I can see why people who were bullied out of school as well might feel.

agreed. i have never been cyberbullied, but i suspect that if i had, i would have snapped completely. i got absolutely no peace in school from bullies, and having to put up with their comments outside of school would be more then i would be able to handle.

I think many of the posters on here are confused about the difference between cyberbullying and tards on the internet being dicks.

Cyberbullying is a problem when it carries from real life into the internet-- it used to be nerds could find solace in the internet-- now the popular kids are chasing them into their facebook accounts or whatever the hell you kids are doing these days.

So its a one-two punch-- its not really JUST the cyber bullying, its coupling the IRL bullying WITH the cyber bullying. So you have these pathetic little dipshits who are trying to get through to the next day between overbearing parents and being unpopular, then they get antagonized everywhere they go online and off. Thats what leads to the suicides.

Yeah, It's a problem. And its been done to me, But to be honest my outlook is ever so bleak already, Ive stopped caring completely! And it is a wonderful state of bliss!

Yeah, cyberbullying isn't someone going 'lolfag' on COD, a lot of the time its an orchestrated campaign to demean and humiliate someone by spreading rumours online, debasing the target and trying to turn people against them.

It's not just a case of 'lol ignore them', you'd have to try to get everyone at school to ignore it too. As the above said its also not just nasty messages online, its a combination of online and real world bullying that is designed to make someone feel worthless, and it's not just a case of 'ignore' protecting you, the same way going 'lalalala' and putting your fingers in your ears won't stop someone punching you in the face, or closing your eyes will stop someone telling everyone you fucked your pet cat.
