Dante's Inferno: Demonic Nudity

Oh right. Sorry, I'm not too familiar with the circles of hell and all that stuff.

That's ok. Neither is EA.
Well, at least they aren't too familiar with this poem beyond the fact that the protagonist is named 'Dante' and it takes place in hell. Beyond that, they crapped all over the source material. Which is a real shame, because the Divine Comedy is phenomenal, and they've reduced it to a God of War clone.

I don't doubt they are trying to make it controversial to sell copies.
What else does it have going for it?

The thing is, they are somewhat familiar with the poem. Apparently they are going by the the circles, and it includes Beatrice and Virgil. So they must be aware of the poem. The problem is that they know at least a cursory bit of the book, and they butcher it so obscenely. There are things in the game that I have seen which would require a working knowledge of, "The Divine Comedy" in order to make such a complete mockery. I generally can deal with a complete overhaul of an existing IP, even if it completely subverts the point of the original. The original still stands alone. But the difference between the book and the game here is just...staggering.

I would still not discount the game completely, but this cements the fact that the game is certainly going to be best described as, "Silly"

During one sequence, a distraught demon-like creature seizes Dante's right hand and slowly guides it across her bare chest; during another, "shade minions" in high heels moan lustfully-in the Lust level-as tentacles protrude from their stomachs, their lower regions. As for the nudity: a tapestry-style (hand-drawn) image of a topless woman embracing a man; the same art-style depicting a slave woman-breasts exposed-lying on the floor with the guilt-ridden; a naked woman on a stone slab levitating in the air (only her breasts are fully defined); the aforementioned topless Cleopatra; and a bluish devil/demon in boss-battle mode-its penis visible during the flying and fire-spewing, the standing around (there are equivalent physics applied to female/male body parts).

Did anyone else get a raging boner while reading that? This just makes me want to play the game even more.

Well, I suppose it makes sense within the lust circle of hell, but they really are trying too hard.

After all, the people in the circle of lust went to hell for LUSTING. What the heck are players doing for these parts of the game?

This is HELL we are talking about.. from everything i've seen and read, the developers are probably being pretty RESERVED with what they put into it..

Had this been a Japanese game company, they would have included scenes that would have ruined the rest of your life.

On a side note, why the hell is Lust considered a Sin anyway isn't it natural for a species to want to reproduce off-topic I know but just an observation.

I know's it's not really the place for it, but to answer your question that's a type of Naturalistic fallacy [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturalistic_fallacy]. Because something is natural does not infer it is good (or at least that would be one's counterpoint to your argument).
