Demos you admit made you buy the full game.

Brutal Legend's demo made me want to go buy it, I just haven't done it yet. Same for Bioshock.

Metal Gear Solid 4 too, kind of. Though...I'd already decided I wanted it but the demo just assured me of that.

I don't normally play demos, but with the introduction of free demos for WiiWare games, I jumped at the chance to try NyxQuest ~Kindred Spirits~ which I'd had my eye on for a while. It was so good that I bought the full game immediately after I cleared the 1-level demo. (It was also so short that I beat it the next day, but it was worth it.)

That one Age of Empires demo a decade or so ago sealed my fate as a fan of the RTS genre. Silver too, though it's an odd kind of RPG.

The demo for Wars And Warriors: Joan of Arc. I played the demo at a friends house and found a copy years later because of it.

I like that demo but I wouldn't buy the full game cos I imagine it to be more of the exact same, only with character customisation.

inFamous did the opposite. Actually the demo made me not want to play the game at all.
I later bought it really cheap and discovered the demo was a skippable annoying little side mission that was a really inaccurate portrayal of the game. I loved inFamous.
I loved the demo, only problem was when you died you were forced into the next mission, when all I wanted to do was free roam, which was always cut short by death or the timer...
I will buy that game as soon as I get paid for my new job...

OT:My brother bought Mercenaries for PS2 after playing the demo, which I also would have done had he not, Loco Roco 2 for PSP, Burnout 3 for PS2, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops(even though that was only a Video Demo),I really wanted to get Dark Cloud but I never found it, And I have bought a good few Sequels after getting a lend of the first one from friends... (which is kinda like a demo)

Sadly Ended up finding the demos multiplayer more enjoyable, at least to me.
Same here, after playing the demo I had to get this game. It was so much fun, if a little sparse and empty.

I'll still sometimes throw it on and trash some buildings for catharsis.

i'm poor so i only buy a game if i've played the demo, read the review, and asked friends how it is
Sensible, as 90% of games are shite. I only buy games if I'm sure they'll be great.

Mirror's Edge. I learned never to ever, ever trust a demo again.
I am so glad I only rented that game, I'd be pissed if I spent 50 quid on it. It defied the whole concept of games being fun.

Okay I'm giving up there; I can't be bothered listing any more and I'm sure no-one cares anyway. I was putting them in chronological order... in retrospect, 1998 and 1999 were fantastic years for gaming.

Brutal Legend's demo made me buy it because I thought it was a Heavy Metal themed hack and slash. Which it was... For the first half the game. The only video game I ever sold within a day of buying.
You sell a game the day you buy it because the game tries to be a more action based RTS where you are the most powerful unit and can cause fiery death to rain on your foes with the right strategy and use of solos? Which it achieves? Eh, not everyone can enjoy stuff like that.

O.T. I'd say Brutal Legend if it weren't for me being sold by the first official trailer.

P.S. I'm not criticizing your choice of selling the game, well ok I am but i'm not being a smug asshole about it, but it just seems odd to sell a game when you haven't beaten the single player and didn't obviously have much time to master the Actiony RTS-ish system.
