Haven't been out to see it, but I've heard enough about the comics that I'll definitely rent it when I get the chance. For what it's worth, I didn't get to see the Expendables either until a friend of mine picked up a bootlegged copy.
On a side note, I definitely want to pick up the book series at some point.

I went to see it in cinemas twice, and missed it a third time because it ended here.

What's wrong with Michael Cera?
And okay, the Expendables was out, are people genuinly so stingy or hard up for cash they can only see one movie a YEAR?

Loved it. The film and the comic are so tastefully and hillariously written and the incredibly stylised comic book/video game visuals made every action scene unforgettable.

I would name it the best action film of 2010, but I think there is another contender that I haven't seen yet... I think it was called the explicables? expen- exp- endurables?

Whatever, it just doesn't ring a bell : P . Scott Pilgrim is one of my favourite movies of this year, alongside The Social Network : ).

Yes and I loved it. I saw it twice. This Michael Cera hate is silly. I thought he did a good job in this movie.

I saw it twice actually. It was pretty good. Not the best film EVAR but still pretty fun. I can certaintly see why it didn't do so well as expected, but it was a refreshing change of pace to the last few films I've seen at the cinema (Predators, Inception and The Expendables (they were all great, especially Inception)).

Saw it, in the theatres. I work at one, so i get to see movies free, so I didnt really pirate it, since I made people have a ticket so they paid for it. Shut up, it works, somehow.

Anyway, I thought it was AMAZING! Definately a step in the right direction. and I know, everyone says michael cera is bad for the movie, but he wasnt. sure, you'll get sick of him, but I like it when he puts out a good movie like this for us. and I'm not sick of him yet.

Just out of curiosity but do you not believe it possible for people to not be genetically attracted to a certain gender, such as asexuality, and instead like the person simply based upon personality?

I honestly hope you don't see this is arguing, as I'm just interested in how other people think. xD
uurrrm... i don't quite understand your question... but i hope this answers it
I don't think people's sexuality is written in their genes or anything. infact, i don't think a lot of things people say are due to genes are actually due to them. I always disagree with people who say "i'm gay, i tried women and i can't like them, i have to be gay" or even "i'm straight, i just hate guys". It is all down to personal choice in my head, so accept that at the moment, you like a girl rather than a guy or whatever... i guess this opinion formed when one of my friends was telling me about how her cousin is definitely gay, but that he couldn't help it, all about how he tried really hard to be straight but couldn't do it. I met him and it was a pile of crap, he'd only tried like, 2 girls, carefully making sure to pick the biggest bitches he could. He went in half-heartedly, trying to hate the experience as much as possible.
and i guess i don't like it when people pretend to give things a go but don't try at all... unless they are forced to do so... urgh, i'm such a contradictory person xD

either way, i've liked guys and girls, but never at the same time... so i wouldn't call myself a bi-sexual... but some people would, but i think thats wrong, i was just deciding. I guess at the end of the day though it doesn't matter, humans are weird and act strangely to relationships with other humans, whether ones of attraction or not.

out of interest, whats your view?

I haven't read the comics (although I'll get around to buying them at SOME point), but I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim like nothing else.

I saw it three times in theaters, and I'm getting the dvd, no question.

I think it's probably my favorite movie of all time now.

Yes oh god yes it was lols ^_^ my normal bunch of friends weren't interested, but I managed to catch a tail-end screening with a couple of mates and loved it to bits - probably my favourite film of the year - certainly the one I remember the best and enjoyed the most (though A-Team was great fun too).

Mecha Scott? (I've only watched the movie)

But yeah, I liked it. Want to get it on DVD though, I prefer that to watching at the cinema (no, not because I'm antisocial, but because I feel patronised when laughing in a silent crowd).
He totally meant Nega-Scott ;) - and I know what you mean about being the only guy laughing in a cinema - I think half the jokes flew over the majority of the audience's head and nailed my funny bone. There were several odd looks...

I can not get enough Scott Pilgrim threads. I wanted to see Scott Pilgrim, ended up seeing the Expendables first, then when I heard how much better the Expendables had done in theaters, I went to see Scott Pilgrim a couple more times out of righteous indignation.

Scott Pilgrim is a flawed movie but there are spots of brilliance in it. Visually the film is a masterpiece. The pacing and characterization, on the other hand, are absolutely terrible. Some scenes are obsessively faithful to the comic, while other plot points are completely changed. Having read the comics first it was very disorienting to watch a scene I knew frame by frame from the book end completely differently. The movie is at its best when it stands on it's own, but it gets dragged down by futile attempts at fan service.

My reasons for seeing it are, it sounds crap what more of a reason do you need not to see something? If you think something is going to be crap you are reluctant to go and see it, if your funds are tight you don't go and spend cash on it.

People growing up and maturing has been done a number of times in both film and TV, big daddy and life unexpected spring to mind.

I originally didn't want to see it 'cos I thought it was some watchmen and kick ass off spring.
the point is your reasons are based on a flawed conception of what the movie is actually about. that's not necessarily you're fault; part of the reason the movie did so poorly is that the marketing sent mixed messages on what the movie actually was. But the fact is that it's not a superhero movie, it's not about teens (mostly), and it definitely isn't emo.

I know quite a lot of people (15-ish) who claim to be Bisexuals, and the vast majority of them are just a bunch of trendy, over-educated ponces who really don't know the difference between their backside and their mouth.
This is true of 15 year-olds in general, regardless of sexual orientation.

I should also point out that at that age most teens have a very poor understanding of sexual identity. I guarantee you most of the "bisexuals" you know now are just experimenting. Which, incidentally, is exactly what happens in Scott Pilgrim. A girl experimented with lesbianism in college but later realized it was just a phase. I don't think there are any actual bisexuals in the movie.
