Do you like Naruto (anime)? Why?

I never could get into Naruto, IMO I found it a bit childish and boring.

I know you guys might hate me for this, but i'm a big fan of Fairy Tail.(i know, gay name)
but guys, watching it makes me so happy, all the bright colours, when I'm not on the edge of my seat with anticipation I'm laughing my head off. Fairy Tail definetely makes my top 3, if you haven't tryed it WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE, GO, GO WATCH NOW.

Shippuden's decent, original Naruto was a bit shitty due to most of the characters being little bitches, although compared to the fillerfest which is Bleach anything's good.
Hell, even when Bleach's not pure filler a single fight takes about 30 episodes and is entirely predictable.

I like it, mainly because of the characters. I don't watch Anime very much so Naruto (as a character) seemed pretty unique to me. Plus the fight scenes are cool.

It's enjoyable enough, but the infamous filler is something to keep in mind. Of course, any major anime based off a certain source material that is never allowed to go off the air if they can avoid it usually ends up having at least one filler arc in between major stories once it starts to catch up, or in some cases filler seasons. The filler in general isn't so bad if they use it to develop character back-story, but my gripe with the Naruto one is, while you did get some of said backstory, characters were utterly derailed, Naruto himself going from his unique level of idiocy + competence to just dropping the second half of the formula.

Naruto didn't learn Rasengan because he had a fox inside him.
Ichigo has his Getsuga Tenshou because the hollow showed it to him.
Ichigo has his mask because he has a hollow inside him.

ichigo has getsuga tenshou because zangetsu told him it's name, which when used makes it 1000 times more powerful.
the black getsuga tenshou is perhaps somehow aided because of the hollow inside of him, but lets not forget that ichigo friggin earnt that by showing his hollow side who da man is, whereas the ninetale fox is stuck behind a friggin gate. How does that pose a threat?
and ichigo is at least quiet when he needs to be.
and of course he has a mask because of his hollow side, ITS A HOLLOW MASK.
ichigo had to struggle to get the ability to use that mask, just like other visards.
Naruto just strolls down there and says "gimme some chakra".

PS. i do like naruto, not shippuden, but naruto. I just don't like him defaming the awsome Bleach.

And thus, he learnt the black getsuga because of the hollow. or else he would still be using his blue getsuga in bankai form.
The kyuubi's stuck behind a gate to bloody seal him up. He's chakra's still immense enough to take over Naruto when he lets down his guard.
That's the point, Ichigo has that power because he has the hollow. HE RELIES ON THE HOLLOW FOR EVERYTHING, including reviving him when he got pwned by the 4th espada.
Remove the hollow, Ichigo's just another idiot with immense reiatsu with no other skills and a uselsss bankai. Remove the Kyuubi, Naruto still has sage mode, rasengans, and a massive chakra pool.
Naruto killed 5 of the pains. Ichigo DIED from the 4th espada.

PS. I love Bleach as much as Naruto. I just think Bleach's main character is a fail. Hollow Ichigo FTW!

To the people arguing over which is better, it's a stupid exercise as the bleach fans don't know about the Naruto stuff and the Naruto fans don't know about the bleach stuff. So you are just going to rehash old stuff from the first season or whatever.
Both series have progressed a lot but you can't really argue canon unless you have read the manga.

OT I watch Naruto and read the manga of Naruto and Bleach, I don't watch bleach anymore though because it is paced like a snail in both iterations and Ichigo is being a little ***** in the manga right now. Naruto is interesting right now as it seems to be leading up to (hopefully) a pretty awesome climax.

Don't like it. Don't hate it but just don't like it. The fans for one get really creepy sometimes. Also I really liked the manga until every time you try to tell someone how cool it is they say "Dude you still watch naruto, pshh thats so gay!" Apparently most people didn't know it was a book before someone came in and ruined it! Sorry to say Naruto is kiddy, or at least the anime is...

Also everyone: Please stop arguing about Bleach v. Naruto! They are 2 entirely different storys in 2 entirely different times! Yes they both have Demons and yes they both know 1 move with different variations of it. They don't even have to do with the same thing! Naruto wants to be the Hokage and Ichigo... Well he protects people. See different motives! Also their demons are nothing alike! Ichigo has to fight with his to get it to be his ***** from the start and Naruto just got his as a baby and doesn't like getting pissed! Naruto was given the most powerful demon but Ichigo has an okay demon that he gave himself to save rukia. Seriously Espada cero Yammy is way more powerful than Ichigo. The way to look at it is that Naruto is just an immense explosion chakra and rasengans which is okay because all Ichigo is, is a big explosion of reitsu and getsuga tenshos!
Yes I have read the manga of both, and I have not finished naruto because it was getting too slow. On the other hand I have finished Bleach (caught up too) and I like it much more so sorry for mabye being biased.
I just had to say that it's really pointless to argue over it because if you striped away there character and looks they would have close to the same TYPEs of abilitys.

No, it's just another action anime that appeals to little boys 8-13. Not to mention all the fangirls who like to pair the guy characters up into...erm...interesting positions and fanfiction stories.

I watch about 100 episodes(just to see if it got better). It reminded me of my days watching DBZ; they spend about 5 episodes doing inner monologuing, 5 more episodes listening to the bad guy monologue about how his special technique will destroy everyone, 3 episodes of the main characters moving around and giving heroic speeches as they get ready to use those techniques they've been blabbering on about, and finally only 1-2 episodes actually fighting [this was all suppose to be happening in one battle]). To me shows like that get old very fast and don't usually veer away from that forumla.


Though I don't care for shows like Samurai Champloon, even one episode of that is more entertaining and meaningful than most of these Shonen Jump type shows that are aimed at Japanese prepubescent/teen boys and ironically end up gaining an North American-European fanbase comprised of highschool/college anime fanboys, and lusty yaoi fangirls (who have nothing better to do than draw the Saus-Naru Kama Sutra)

Just my 2 cents of course.


EDit: Yes, I'm aware that a Naruto manga exists. Again, reminds me of DBZ considering how overly-drawn out the manga series is considering there's not much substance to it.

I like how they really expand on the fights from the manga and animate them pretty well (fight with Kakuzu and Hidan and current fight with Pain, even though some animations in that one are awful)

The main characters annoy me now though since they don't really have a reason for their motives anymore

I follow the manga, and look up the fighting scenes in the anime, but I generally skip through half the episodes I watch due to monologues I've already seen drawing out the time

Naruto > Bleach, because Ichigo is a failure who can't use bankai.

Enemy uses shikai; he goes bankai.
Enemy goes bankai; he puts on his mask.
Frankly, if you take away his hollow, Ichigo'll be a piece of worthless crap.
He didn't even know how to use the black getsuga until his hollow showed him -.-
At least Naruto has his sage mode.

naruto's universe can be impossibly compared to that of bleach.
i could now bring on the argument that naruto has the worlds most badass demon inside him and breaks out whenever he's pissed.

also naruto always comes in a team of 3 or more. naruto has had his sage mode for about 5 episodes now so it hardly counts.

And I could bring in the arguement that Ichigo has the world's most badass hollow, so it puts them on the same level.
And Ichigo knows ONE move. Getsuga Tenshou.
Naruto knows one move too, Rasengan, but at least he has variations of that. Double rasengan; odama rasengan; futon rasenshuriken, etc.
Ichigo just knows that one move and uses it that one way. And if his hollow never showed him that, he would have never known how to use it.

he does use it in different ways.
he has the normal one (as in the long-medium range)
he has one where he puts the power of the getsuga into his zanpakutou increasing force. (short-range)

and stronger (black) versions of that. it's also less controlled that way.
and his hollow form is himself. (it is ichigo, it originated from ichigo. so in a way he taught himself)
