Wait, wait, wait.. let me get this straight.
We're talkin' about how these girls should be pictured in a game where every bodytype, male or female is utterly ridicoulus over the top?
And it wouldnt be a problem if they we're this feminin/sexy but with a B-cup? I'm confused. Objectifying small tits is ok, but big breasts are not?
Also, what has this beat-em up to do with real life sexism? Is this the new form of shooters make killers? Beat em ups raises boys to like domestic violence?
Just treat a friggin game for a game once and don't over complicate things. Curves and big breasts are a beauty standard in Japan, just look at their Mangas.
Also being paler than a vampire on a diet is sexy. And nobody of us has the right to claim that this certain view on female beauty is wrong.
Sheesh.
No, take your sensibility someplace where people are willing to discuss things rationally. There's no place here for the likes of you!
The issue of sexualizing men is irrelevant. Men are less likely to throw fits about their portrayal than women are, especially since the Anita-bomb exploded, reminding us why were' shameful rape culture supporters for playing video games that depict women in anything that she does not personally approve of, also Lego oppression. Black people? We're poorly represented in many video games as well, be it a bird's nest or offensively caricatured dialogue, or persistent thug-life bullshit. Truth is we have a game like Soul Caliber IV where men's clothing is just as prone to blowing off their bodies as women, but we only heard people gripe about it happening to women. Or, as a reversal, Chris Redfield had ridiculous looking arms, but nobody made a peep. Kratos and his mostly naked self, Conan, Batman and his skin-tights, you name it. I love Spider-Man, have since I was a shrimp, but if his outfit were any tighter we'd see his asshole.
The breast size thing is a funny one. Yes, it get's outrageous, but it's their game, let them make it as they wish. Lara Croft, the women of Soul Caliber V, numerous others have seen reductions, largely to appeal to the sensitive out there. What kills me is that it's sexism when men do it, but when women do it there is no problem. Ever seen a game convention? Most of the women there aren't wearing much at all. Are they complaining?
I don't think it's actually a matter of jiggle being a cultural thing, I think that in Japan they're less influenced by nonsensical puritanical ideal as we westerners are (especially my country, good old America). In my country death and violence are okay, cleavage is bad. You can see lots of murder and crime on TV, even in children's cartoons, but anything even remotely sexual is an "A.O." or "NC-17" rated nightmare out to corrupt people and support oppressing women.
This whole argument implies that a video game is sexist. A goddamn video game! You're completely right, it's just a game, and certainly not worth calling out all male pigs (which I guess is all of us born with a penis that so much as look at a woman at all anymore, real or polygonal). The only part of any of this that is even offensive is the overreaction by feminists and their supporters. Remember Married with Children. People found that offensive too. The advice of the writers of that show? Don't like it, don't watch it.
Damn, and I wanted to be brief.
