WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!

That was my reaction to the end

I mean WTF?
I know, it was a little sudden at the end. but that's how clever the team that made Doctor Who are. It was so unexpected, that I think most people are going to watch the next one simply to understand what the hell happened. I sure am.

The Master, (John Simms) isn't he dead? I did watch that one.
Oh, he's been finding ways to cheat death since forever! I think he once survived being executed by the daleks by, and I quote, "taking on the form of a small, snake-like entity".
If you are indeed quoting correctly, oh my god! I can't even think of things to describe how I feel about that, it is so absurd! I don't watch Doctor Who regularly, so I haven't seen that one, but I don't think that's why I feel confused.

I didn't really like it. Well When shitty CGI effects and the Master flying with his lighting shit and jumping around like a fool were not cloulding the screen, or terriable acting and camera work and script in places, It was pretty good.

Secret book of Saxon? Potions for life and death? Wtf?
If you had watched the original Doctor Who episodes then you know that things were just as corny and ridiculous back then but everyone who has been drawn in by the new series' don't expect it and thus don't like it.

HOWEVER, the Master flying with electricity reminded me of the main guy from InFamous haha
Oh I watched a lot of the old episodes, my stepdad has alot on tape. They are everybit as corney, but they also had much more adult moments, such as the first episode with Davaros where fleeing prisoners are gunned down 1 by 1 as they try to escape.
In the new Series everything seems to have to be hyper and child friendly, and the corn is taken to cornier levels by the horriable effects and story.

I am looking forward to the finale, based purely on this episode. However, I am looking forward more to Russell T Davies leaving his poor writing skills behind.
This episode required too much suspension of disbelief and contained very very little in the way of explanation. (as has been mentioned, the potions, but my major gripe was the lightning and flying - I probably missed the explanation tbh). That and the CGI transformation sequence was fantastic guys. Well done. It's not like you've managed them far better in the past and I understand how low the budget was...

Still, an excellent episode, but I fear for the finale, what with it being in the hands of RTD.

(Also Matt Smith is going to have to be truly amazing to top David Tennant, but that's another thing entirely)

I got fed up of doctor who after billie piper died, then it lost all appeal. I kinda think the new doctor who has lost the point somewhat of the old one. It got boring and complicated has fuck haswell so I left it, from the sounds of it that wasn't a bad choice.
For people complaining about the new doctor: shut up, the exact same thing happened when david tennant became docter and everyone loved him.

It's not a recent one, it was a 1996 television film. Made as an attempt to restart the series after it was cancelled. However, I'm a little unsure as to if it's considered canon or not...

I suppose,i just hope there's a good reason for their return not just a "oh we were having breakfast"

Shame that it's Tennant's last episode,i have a feeling the new guy will be pish

I do indeed. But I haven't for a while. Need to catch up. Girlfriend's watching the Christmas special as I type. Apparently the acting has gone to pot.

Watching it now, really am not looking forward to the new doctor
As much as im not keen on the program anyway, from what i have seen David Tenant is the best one so far. He is a good actor and most of the time he is really good at Doctor Who.

The beggining seemed a bit slow and annoying, but some cool stuff once it got going.
I do look forward to seeing how the series will improve once RTD is no longer messing things up.

No, it's regarded as a spinoff. Otherwise Matt smith is the last doctor.

Of course even if you take things that are canon Dr Who is so full of contradictions and ridiculous explanations its absurd.

I only saw the last 4 minutes. Awesome ending, although it it didn't make sense why it should happen, and I don't know whether I can chalk that up to missing the episode or not.

Honestly the best bits of the episode were the whenever Timothy Dalton was on screen. Even his voice alone was enough to out act everyone bar Cribbins (who remains a legend, despite the lumpy and rather horrible dialogue RTD gave him).

Even when he was saying things that my mind was rebelling against, as it made no sense, his sheer presence dominated everything and sent a shiver down my spine.

It was a special super awesome light show.

...I was drunk, I really didn't follow anything. It was just 'pretty' while I stared off somewhere.

On the subject of Matt Smith, I have seen him in a few other shows and he is pretty damn good. When I first saw Eccleston regenerate into Tennant I thought: "Oh god! This new guy looks terrible, there is no way he's ever gonna live up to Eccleston!"

And here we are :D

I'm prepared to give the guy a chance. The episode? I loved it! Enough to ignore the complete rubbish that was and always has been RTD's writing. However, Timothy Dalton stole the show in my opinion. I would be hard pressed to select somebody who would make a more awesome narrator...except maybe Liam Neeson. He has a nice voice :)

Potions are a biological reaction, and biological reactions are how we all end up on this planet. Conception and growth are both biological reactions.
So its really not that far-fetched

They're DEAD.

They cannot be there, they are DEAD.

Hell, they had better have a damned good excuse as to why they are suddenly alive...
Im sorry your claiming that a Sci-fi show with time travel cannot bring people back from the dead.
