The last two episodes haven't been the most amazing ones they've done. But the last half hour of this one made up for it. His last words made me cry haha.
I thought it was his mother also, and when the old guy was staring at her, after hearing rumours about him also being a timelord in disguise, and the whole dialogue between him and the doctor about being proud if they were father and son. I wouldn't be surprised if Bernard turned out to be his timelord father and mystery woman his mother.SomeBritishDude said:I can almost garantee it was his mother.Plinglebob said:The Mysterious Woman. Just wish they'd mentioned her name. Lost money because they didn't.
Anyway, she's bound to come up again, you may get a chance to win your money back.
Also, Tennant is a very hard act to follow, hav'nt seen popularity like this since BakerLimaBravo said:I'll be watching. Really havent enjoyed the latest 'revamp', Poor Matt SMith sounds like hes going to get the shittiest end of the stick in terms of leftovers he has to pick up from the dross from the new arcs & 'time war'.
That's been said about every Doctor from Troughton onwards. Indeed, if someone didn't say it I would be more worried. It's all about the writing, not the actor so much. Even McCoy could have been good if he'd had writers who weren't more suited to Rentaghost than SF.Lemon Of Life said:The new doctor is looking horrible, but I dunno, maybe he's a good actor, it's just his appearance doesn't suit the role at all.
Precisely why I thought Susan. I think Mother would be breaking the archetype too much (he's a parent figure, not a child), but children, and grandchildren, can be proud of their family too.AlexWinter said:I thought it was his mother also, and when the old guy was staring at her, after hearing rumours about him also being a timelord in disguise, and the whole dialogue between him and the doctor about being proud if they were father and son. Agreeded.Valksy said:Just don't let him holler Geronimo every 5 minutes...that is already irritating.
On the contarary, I think his appear is one of te things I think he could bring to the role. He's the first Doctor in a long time to look truelly alien, and he could certainly use that to his advantage, creating a less human, slightly more sinister character. Tht being said, he hasn't got age on his side once again.Lemon Of Life said:The new doctor is looking horrible, but I dunno, maybe he's a good actor, it's just his appearance doesn't suit the role at all.
I too was thinking this.AlexWinter said:I thought it was his mother also, and when the old guy was staring at her, after hearing rumours about him also being a timelord in disguise, and the whole dialogue between him and the doctor about being proud if they were father and son. If she's his child however it seems like a very, very odd choice of casting. I understand that Time Lords work differently (hell, the Doctor seems to be getting younger and younger with every transformation), but to use a women who must be in her fortys as his daughter?...That would just be weird. Unless she regenerates between now and when we next meet her (which we almost certainly will) it'll be a very odd family reunion, unless they have some incredible acting involved and manage to create the appearance of a young father meet his older daughter (which would be very odd but very touching to watch, and I think very odd is what they're trying to go for here with this new doctor, it certainly suits the new writer to use a lightly sinister and strange character).Tranka Verrane said:Precisely why I thought Susan. Susan was his Grand-daughter from the very first series. He left her behind in the 22nd century and apart from a brief reprise in the Five Doctors she hasn't been seen since. The Doctor has stated he was hurt by his children's deaths so I doubt we would see that generation again, but Susan is still available as an untied loose end.SomeBritishDude said:If she's his child however it seems like a very, very odd choice of casting. He jumped rather than being pushed so it's doubtful it's annoyance.bodyklok said:Any one else get the feeling that at the end RTD was expressing his annoyance at leaving the series?
