That is sick. People are so cruel to clowns these days. I mean, he could get seriously injured!

In all seriousness i don't care that its our national emblem, because seriously we eat them so we cant talk. But its still not a very humane thing to do. And its not even remotely funny or anything.

Sure it sucks and it's degrading and I always enjoy seeing people get mauled or thrashed when they're trying to enforce themselves over an animal, but this sitiuation right here is peanuts compaired to some of the other stuff that happens to animals.

I'm Australian and I think it's fine (I absolutely HATE people saying I automatically share some opinion).

Believe you me REAL cruelty to animals makes me sick to the stomach but it's like the old circus animal argument, they're trained, they're treated well, they enjoy the attention yet quite alot of people are opposed to it.

I mean for goodness sake Skippy was basically doing the same thing week after week (Not in the sense of boxing clowns just being trained and interacting with humans for a bit of entertainment) on his TV show and we look back on it as a legendary milestone in Australian television, one festival (In another country might I add) has a slightly dressed up kangaroo on a short leash who's probably trained to just perform in a ring with a guy who's barely touching him and all the papers lash out saying that it's "Un-Australian" and "A disgusting, despicable act".

Would you be happy if this was being done to the national emblem of your country?
Seeing as how our national symbol is a lion, it's already been done. Then again, can you call liontamers and the dirtbag who was punching those kangaroos the same thing?
I can respect a good circus act, as long as the animals are treated right I don't mind them doing a backflip or two.

Rofl. See, cause I'm rolling on the floor. LAUGHING. Not really. Who could really find that funny?

I'd say we should sell Texas to get out of our economic recession,
but then I'd be stereotyping everyone in Texas and be no better than those people.

I still think that 75% isn't great. I can't believe that even 25% of people can think that it's okay.

Well that was horrible to watch. I'm kind of surprised that that sort of thing still goes off to be honest... and that 25% of the poll thought it was okay?
25% isn't too bad to be honest. Considering enough people were sick enough to find it worth broadcasting, only a quarter of all voters is a fairly good outcome. Obviously it's still bad that there's 25% of people liking this..but there are a lot of horrible people in this world -points at /b/ for reference-
Rules 1 and 2, shhhhhhhh

Do you see a raid going on? ;]

Lol no it's not. Who would have the equivalent of a rat on their emblem? Sounds like you need to do some research :/

Its not hated, they just breed to plague numbers and destroy farmland.Which is our own fault really, bringing european farming practices to a land which is basically one big desert.

For the record I wasn't attacking the people of Texas. I'm saying that there are some questionable laws in Texas. That's all, the same can be said of any state it's just this particular incident really doesn't have a law that prevents it or can fine the person behind it even though it's quite clear that the animal is being abused inside the ring to many witnesses. Again, if the kangaroo was not restrained I'd have no qualms with this and I'm sure no one else would have either.

That's really all I had to say, I never once meant to attack the Texan people. That one bit about the lack of good things was a joke. There are good things in Texas, except Kamikaze Jellyfish (The Landmines of the Beach)... they are jerks.

Then why bring Texas up at all? If this had happened in California, would you have pointed out that it was California? Probably not. But because it's Texas, it's worth mentioning.

Yes, if I were Australian, I would understand this level of offense, but I'm not. Forcing any kind of animal to play pretend boxing or some shit is in itself, offensive, but there are plenty other instances of this occurring.

Fair enough, I'll look into the states that allow this to happen and if I find even one state other than Texas. I will rescind my previous comment.

They apparently do that same show all across America.
