Holy crap, you guys make my 1 hours in Mass Effect look like 'I stubbed my toe' in comparison to your 'all 4 limbs amputated'.
1 hour in Mass Effect is like 5 or six hours for any other game. Everything in Mass Effect just wants to talk to you! plus you have to add in the extra time it takes you to pilot that ass land rover thing around.

In Mass Effect I was planet exploring and got a shit load of stuff but the power went out. So technically, my inability to play or not save wasn't my fault. I'm not sure whether or not I'm lucky for that.

Panzer Dragoon Orta: It has checkpoints at the start of each level and before each boss, but doesn't save until you exit the game. I sit down for a massive binge and play through a level or two (they're massive, only 10 in the game) and die at the boss, try again from the checkpoint. Fail. Turn off the Xbox in frustation, get booted back about a 5th of the game.

DAMMIT! Fortunately that game is immensely fun, so it wasn't too much chore to play through.
Wait, that's a lie. The game is immensely HARD. It was infuriating.

Just a few days ago, it was with Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

Reaction? My reaction was "fuck this shit".

In the early days I've quit many, many times in a bitter rage.
But then came Windows 95, and Office 95.
So many crashes and errors I got used to hitting CTRL+S after every typed scentence.

It has improved my save rate in games, so I don't have to rage quit as often.
Last time I did was in WoW, in which I find the whole "backtrack to your corpse a billion times" a retarded mechanic. :0

Oblivion.

Autosave playtime: 50 hours.
Quicksave playtime: 50 hours 17 minuts
Manual Save playtime: 10 hours.

My quicksave and autosave got currupted.

40 hours , gone, wiped out in 2 seconds.
That hurts... that hurts bad.

I had a save go currupt on me in Oblivion with a glitch that prevented me from finishing the last thieves guild quest.

My previous save was about 3 hours before it, but hey... it's a Beth game, we should have known to save every five minues.

I learned that spamming the "hints" button in Avalon Code causes the game to freeze. I ended up replaying two hours worth of game on two seperate occasions. I still stuck with the game though. It takes a lot to get me to rage quit.

First time through MGS I didn't save between the bit where you are tortured and ascending the stairs to the chopper fight with the stinger missiles.

My friend thought it would be hilarious to turn my PSX off. I wasn't impressed.

Also when I first got Resi Evil for the PSX, I didnt even realise how to save and assumed it would autosave. I nearly cried when a zombie ate my face off and I realised I would have to start all over again after doing about half the game.

I was playing Pokemon a while back. I played it for roughly 8 hours straight. I never saved, I thought it auto-saved. Reaction: I was exited to start with a different Pokemon. Haha

Just to top this, when I got my Elite I transferred all my saves over to my new HDD and somehow my 130 hour Oblivion save was deleted.

I nearly cried.

you think that,s bad i remember playing pokemon blue i had over 300 hours on it it only records to 300 so probable i was over 4 or 500.
i just couldn,t reset it i wasted so much time on it.

and then the game just broke(prob excessive playing)and i was free.
i litteraly felt free.

I don't think anyone is going to top that.

Screw pokemon, your Oblivion character is an extention of yourself! It's like losing a good friend. Or your Mr Hyde.

the entire part between shadow temple and the end of the game in Zelda OoT...
Are you telling me you never once paused the game and went to the menu during that bit? I call bullshit on that because you must have to change your equipment!

I mainly use the Auto-saves from Fallout 3.

I was surprised though when the last proper save I had was from just when I'd left the vault, by this point I was level 9. Alot of work to do if I didn't save...

Mass effect, when i'd finished exploring a planet a got a load of awesome loot, was on the menu ready to save when the game froze. I had to turn it all off and do it all over again, annoying gun battle and all.
