I already play games perfectly well with a controller. The best revolution for any form of control was to make the controller wireless. Other than that, I don't need to be moving around or flailing my arms to make things happen.

I also happen to game with a wheelchair-bound girl regularly. When she saw Natal (I refuse to call it by any other name) showcased at E3 she said "Well now they're just making fun of me." I'm sorry, but the controller is the most perfect way for any one to move about in any game. Arm flails will be a thing of the past soon.

I hope so anyway.

The price has to be pretty low for me to actually buy it. If Microsoft isn't completely retarded, they'll drop the price. But they would have to drop it with at least 70 euros (or dollars. Funny how the amount of dollars is equal to euros in games). I don't see that happening.

Also, having absolutely no non-jump-around-like-a-crazy-person games announced, I'm not very excited. I just bought a video cam, I can jump in front of it as much as I like.

Also, since I'm not very excited of getting a new Xbox 360 slim, kinnect will require an external powersource. That's kinda pushing it.

I will admit it'd be pretty cool if they made a Black and White 3 for Kinect...
I will definitely buy Kinect if they make a Black and White for it.
It would be a sound investment on their part.

I'll wait for it to collect its fair share of games. Then make my decision based upon that, with any luck at all it'll also have dropped down in price. But till then, I can't say I care for it... or what happens to it.

And regarding the Playstation Move... wasn't Sony's big motion controls the Sixaxis? Whatever happened to that?
It sucked really really bad and miraculously everyone caught on pretty quick instead of just making stuff with it anyway.

EDIT: Also while we're all here, can someone explain to me what the crap Child of Eden is? I watched the trailer and i still have absolutely no clue what it's about at all but everyone seems to think it looks cool.

So they decide to build a better Wiimote? Makes sense.

I'm writing it off, but not for the 3 reasons that op mentioned. Rather, I'm writing it off because I simply don't believe that motion controls are the future for gaming. When I'm playing a game I want immersion, and flailing my arms wildly isn't very immersive.
Now stuff like the novint falcon [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PS_vu-WBb0], that's what console developers should be doing. That shit's insane! It even reproduces recoil and everything! *drool*

Because it doesn't care about black people. [http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/aj/as/24780-spoony-angry-joe-play-kinect]
Seriously, the thing just reeks of gimmick. And not even EyeToy gimmick. This smells like Power Glove to me. I might consider it if it manages to both prove me wrong and cost less than two games I can play without looking like an idiot.

I don't care. it's like 3dtv. stupid. I don't care about pricepoint on something I won't buy, I don't care about release titles on something I won't buy and I don't care if justin beiber is advertising something I will never buy. consoles have controllers, no controller= no interest in my books. I'll let you young pups play with it, I'm too set in my ways.

I'm not buying for the same reason I didn't buy the Wii. I'm tired of Motion Controls and I'm dead set against them. When I bought the Wii, I thought it would be fun and enjoyable, then I ended up learning that it was only good at parties or with friends and I rarely have company, meaning my Wii sits in the corner gather dust.

I'm not gonna waste $150 or $70 or even $50 dollars on another gimmick.

I'm writing this off because Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo would probably announce their new consoles within the next 2-4 years. Why buy something that's gonna take up space and will be obsolete within a couple of years? (also applies to gaming consoles, physical copies of games and other electronics)

i dont care if the controller is $5, motion controll is a gimmick that only has appeal to old people and little kids. the rest of us should be looking to reduce the motion requires so that we decrease the gap between thought and on-screen action, that's the long and short of it.

The thing that strikes me is you could use the sixaxis in heavy rain and LBP, now they say they will be reformatting those games to play with move. Seriously? Won't it be the exact same experience? I myself think the heavy rain sixaxis works better then the move, but only time will tell.

I'm writing off Kinect for the same reason as Yahtzee is.

We already have controllers.
If people has said that when Nintendo proposed 4 buttons on a D-Pad rather than 2 back when they released the SNES then gaming would still be stuck in the late eighties. Yahtzee is hypocritical for writing off motion control while championing immersion in games. For him to complain that there is no significant physical feedback in motion control is just convenient nitpicking. So force feedback is a more important immersive technique than putting the players literally in the character's place? Um, no. Fear of change/progress is a terrible thing, and that's all that people dismissing Kinect (or even Move for that matter) is.

It just really irks me on how much money they wasted on the Sixaxis... and I can only imagine how much they're going to waste on the Move. But hey, at least the Move can get us an Arcade Star Wars, like that one that used to be everywhere... that was a good arcade game. Yet that's all it'd be good for; arcade games and possibly a few select titles.

Other than that it ends up being shovelware and in my book that's wasted money.

Support Microsoft in their quest to copy the Wii as thoroughly as possible? Hell no.

I don't like that while playing a Kinect game you absolutely have to be standing...

Nope, sorry, it has been confirmed that you absolutely do not need to be standing. In fact, it was confired about 2 weeks ago.
