I think it'll end up the same as the Eyetoy.. It'll be fun for a few weeks but then It'll end up collecting dust once the novelty wears off. As long as it doesn't get in the way of other, more serious releases, then I don't really care.

What's that? Don't write it off? Too late, I wrote off fucking Project Natal. I mean, I can see that we want to be optimistic about it and all, but... Shovelware is just inevitable and pretty much the only thing you can feasibly DO with it... Milo is creepy as hell... The price IS steep and I don't think it will realistically be lowered below $100 before it comes out... and Justin Bieber is advertising for it? Really? Didn't know that. This calls for drastic measures!
Because the Sony version of this, the eyetoy, died a horrible flaming death some years years ago and I have no reason to believe that the climate of gaming has changed to the extent that there will be a significance difference in the expected life of this version other then Microsoft will pump more money into advertising it. Of course, as we all know, advertising only gets you so far.
Wait a minute, Star Wars one? Isn't that the one that a rail sword fighting game? How can possibly be good? So the reason there's all the rejection? Because we are not interested in motion controls, we do not want to flail around a room looking like 3 year old with some mental disorder. All that Kinect will do is break immersion and immersion is the point of video games. Lowering the price isn't going to change my mind, money, for me anyway, is no object when getting hardware or games. If I like something I will buy it. I do not like this.
I've written off kinect because it is imposssible to move a character in the game from one end of a room to the other without having an infinitely large room or walking into your tv. The leaning thing doesn't work because if you want to move your character forward for a prolonged period of time your back will start to hurt if you have to bend forward to move. All this thing can handle are on rails games, dancing, or minigames it's so limiting
When they release good games, I may consider giving Kinect a whirl via rental. At the present time, I have no interest in this blissful little family time games or petting digital tigers.

To be fair Madworld, and Dragon Quest Swords are actually pretty good. Muramasa The Demon Blade has a love/hate relationship depending on the person. And of course you could wait it out for the new Kirby, Zelda, DK and Metroid. The rest I will admit, is crap.Jamie Doerschuck said:

Wii rip off is a silly arguement ultimatly. Want motion controls to get better? Then competition is key. Nintendo is the bar to beat. If someone beats it, then Nintendo will have to do better then they do, and thus, improvements and innovations occur.
