Im pretty sure its the genre. I hated GTA4 even though people said it was great but that might just be because of other reasons. Ya it feels to me that the GTA/SR type sandbox games were fun for me when I was 12 but now I actually want a pretty solid story, and while I like sandbox games like Infamous, I just feel like there's something missing in the saints row and GTA. I feel that those games place more emphasis on destruction and wanton killing more than the actual story and missions. I dunno Im not saying its right but its how I feel so ive pretty much decided to stay away from all games like that.Thunderhorse31 said:You're doing it wrong.Poomanchu745 said:I bought saints row 2 because he said it was just about the best game ever and it was basically a big steaming pile of shit. I got bored with repeatedly killing civilians when I was 13 with GTA3 and this is essentially the same thing. I got 1.5 hours in and quit.
(sorry, I had to)
But seriously, judging a sandbox game based on 90 minutes of interaction is a bit harsh. The game gets ridiculously fun, both main story missions and side missions are equally crazy and entertaining. You're obviously entitled to your own opinion, but you should give it another try sometime if you can.
Then again if you already had a distaste for games like GTA3, maybe it's the genre more than the game itself.
