If you haven't played a Fallout game, do yourself a favor and go get signed up for GOG ( http://www.goodoldgames.com ) and buy fallout 1 and 2. They're only a couple bucks a piece.
Borrow it from a friend, ebay it, whatever, just get these games and play them.

This isn't nostalgia talking when we compare FO3 to FO 1/2 (especially 2). Those games really were that good.

I count the Fallout series (not including that god-awful Hack-'n-slasher Interplay made for the Xbox to get a quick buck) as one of my top five favorite franchises ever.

And I only bought copies of Fallout and Fallout 2 a few months ago.

I'm sure that if I grew up on this game then it would probably be my favorite of all, or maybe an extremely close second.

Theres nothing wrong with not being able to kill EVERYTHING.

Nor is there anything wrong with wanting the same level of freedom in a sequel that was present in the earlier games in the series.

You know, I think the fact that you can fire mother-fucking-teddy-bears at enemies and dismember and kill them somehow voids that problem. Just one step away from a weapon that fires weapons.

I really don't mind a few unkillable people or some zombies-with-no-brains-who-want-brains-zombies that I can't discuss the latest fashion with.

Well the thing is you can attack them, but they just get up later, which is gay.

But come to think of it, since the teddy bear gun just uses random debris for ammo I think if you found something that looked like a weapon but wasn't listed as one you could use it for ammo and shoot it out of the original weapon, thus making a weapon that shoots weapons.

I live in Australia so I hope it's still good and not too modified. Here's hoping.

After an incident with Australia's game review board nazi... thing, they modified ALL versions of the game. So, it will be slightly modified from the original production(they exchanged Morphine with a made up drug), but it won't be any different from what anyone else gets.

You pay so it's compatible and you don't need any tricky emulation, you get the soundtrack with it (in good quality) and a bunch of other stuff, you get SUPPORT which you won't get with a pirated version, etc.

The first Fallout is free on gametap but if you want to skip it and see Fallout in it's prime, go to the second one, despite that you'll miss a lot of good stuff.

Actually, I would have to disagree. Yes, Fallout 2 is superior to the first in many ways, but I think that you should try Fallout first. It will give you more understanding of how the Fallout world works, and it's easier for beginners to finish.

What was so bad about Oblivion? I quite enjoyed it! Well..

Apart from the leveling system, the main story and the voice acting ...

It wasn't a bad game. But...compared to morrowind...

Fallout 2 was just epic for the amount of content and repeatability. I know they didn't, but for some reason I still hope they do stupid character dialog like they did in fallout 2.
