The title of this thread implies that not all deities are fictional, but I don't want to spawn an argument, so I'll just call it a tie between Mithros, Varda/Elbereth/Elentari (and the rest of the Valar), Eilistraee, and the various forest gods in Princess Mononoke.

It might not be called a deity in games, but it's a giant, constantly burning, atomic fusing ball that provides everything we have on this planet. And, of course, we have quite a lot of proof that it actually exists.

you can't get a much better god than that.
Fictional how, then?
oh, right. forgot about that. but then, how do we know that aal of this is real and not just a dream of some other creature?
I think, therefore I am.
I think, therefore I might be.

I have to say that all the Discworldly gods are very good, but my favourite is the God of Evolution, simply because of the dirigible whale, his fascination with beetles and the hermit elephant.

Although my favourite animal in a Discworld novel is the two mile long limpet. Would the wizards of UU count as gods in terms of Roundworld?

Although Shrykull definitely rates as one of the best, and the Abe's Oddysee and Exodus still rank in my top 10, my favourite fictional video game deity is Mantorok from Eternal Darkness, closely followed by Cha'turrgha, Xel'atoth and Ulyaoth in no particular order as I like my health, magick and sanity pretty much the same thank you.

Mielikki from DnD. She is a key figure in the Drizzt Saga. She is also the closet deity that I feel I could ever worship. Her beliefs (I guess that is the right word for it) are the closest to how I feel. Note: She is originally a Norse goddess.

In all seriousness though, the forerunners are cool, even though even in the Halo universe they are not actually gods.

Considering how they are technically the same, but using different approaches, exactly how does that work?

The Forerunners.

Now, I'll sit here and wait patiently for people to say the gods of the mainstream religions. It'll happen, I promise.
Really? Are people that insensitive around here?

Rayman. That is all.

Though in all seriousness, the King of All Cosmos definitely takes the cake here, if only for the hilarious antics he gets up to.

I'll be happy to refute this with you in a civilized manner, but this is a Game Discussion Thread and that was a cheap-shot.
LOL.Nice Rebuttal.Or is it rebuttel?
