I honestly wish I could meet more female gamers. I know a few and they are good friends and all but to me having a GF that likes games is a must. Doesn't have to be any good at games really, but someone that can have fun with 'em. Honestly though I just treat any girl online as another dude. If ever I do say "Stop the presses it's a girl!" I'm probably kidding.
I do find it hilarious though on my WoW guild's vent. EVERY time a girl talks on Ventrilo everyone shuts up. It just stays quiet. I always laughed at that and never really understood it.
I'm assuming you mean like "real" gamers as opposed to the secretaries that play solitaire, hearts, or bejeweled at work when their bosses aren't looking.
I think every girl I've known around my age (20 ... ish) has at one point played some video game or the other, the most popular being of the "super smash" series and the mmorpgs like Flyff, Maple Story, Rose Online, etc. Although there is your fair share of girl gamers that like fps's the most, it seems to me that mmorpgs are more popular among the girls.
Oh but I don't think I know any girl gamers that like strictly single player games; the ones i know tend to gravitate to multiplayer games.

Oh god... I remember when I first met her. She was all excited to play against me on Smash Bros Melee. I though "Damn. I'm such a badass at this game, I'm going to have to go easy on her."... HA! It was a slaughter... I had my ass handed to me so many times I nearly cried. I have played with a few girls I met online, hell I took on a few of the girls from the PMS clan; good god is Althena good, although I did beat the few I played, well most. Admittedly it is nice playing video games with girls because for the most part you can actually have a conversation (strategy planning!) that does not result in screaming of uber pwnage... until some idiot, who has never see a girl he wasn't related to starts drooling.

GOD .. i hate males pretending to be females .. seriously!! .... ROTFL nah i'm just messing haha ... i know a few female gamers myself ... in fact the only challenge i ever get on tekken 5 anymore is from my best friends girl haha ... it was akward the first time he came to visit and saw her sitting in my room playing tekken .... one of those wtf moments but he trusts me haha .. plus ... it's just simple se.. err .. i mean gaming ..insectoid said:

I'm only mediocre at pvp games because I don't like to compete. And I don't spend hours everyday gaming, so I don't have superhuman prowess at any game.

If you have different intrests from your girl, and you suffer so damn much, don't date her in the first place. If you can't find someone who shares your intrests, find someone with which you can make a compromise.
Anyway, what's wrong with decorating shows? I mean, wouldn't you want your girlfriend to know how to dress well and how to decorate homes? Of course, those shows teach you what not to do as much as what to do through example.

Are you referring specifically to something I said? I am far from a mysogonist, and love my gf very much, the fact is she accepts my nerdy hobbies and I respect her taste in tv shows even if I don't personally like them.
Who ever said you were a *****? I didn't see anyone do it.
Making a statement implying that we are 'all a bunch of mysogonists' is just as much an ignorant generalisation as a dude saying 'girls suck at games'.
Two of my closest friends are in fact female gamers. One of them hides it though, she get's sick of being flamed. The other just doesn't play hard-core games, just one's that are more female friendly when you take them online.
