Final Fantasy Characters: Best And Worst

As I am playing FFXIII at the moment, I would have to say the best character is Sazh. Any man with an afro is ok in my book. The worst would have to be a tie between Hope and Snow. Hope should go cut himself and Snow is the most overdramatic douchebag I've ever seen.

He's overrated and what the hell did he ever do in comparison to Kuja? Killed a village of people? ALMOST destroyed one city? PAH! Kuja obliterated an entire different plane of existence in less then 5 minutes, he also essentially ended all life as we know it.
Sephiroth really is just an overrated momma's boy.

Not really no. Most DBZ badguys seemed to be Snidley Whiplash evil. Kuja actually has motivations and personality flaws.

I will defend everything about him except his outfit, that's a fair target. Yes, he looks silly, but he's also a great villain.

he certainly was a great villain, ff9 was my fav ff game after ff3(like 6 or something in japan)

Hmm.. So hard to pick.. worse one I mean. I'd say anything from 7-13 is bad, except for the cast of 9, which is the only one of the series that I liked the characters in. I say from 7 and after because before then not so much was spent on character development and interaction in the older days. Games where more simple then. But yeah I pretty much hate the entire casting lot of the 'newer' half of the series. But hey its ok I'm not totally against the FF characters! I still think the worse rpg characters ever are the two main ones in Tails of Symphona Dawn of the New World. Way worse then all the FF characters combined. But that is a different topic.

Sephiroth has been hyped up beyond any sane level, but you have to admit when he shows up it's got more "oh crap, were screwed" than basically any other villain. Even if he is pretty one-dimensional.

I'm thinking that's because your first experience is as follows.

You go to sleep in a jail cell, expecting to somehow break yourself out when you wake up. When you wake up, your door is open and the guard has been brutally murdered. You step outside to see that the entire building is painted with blood. It almost makes you want to either go down the elevator or hole up in the safe jail cell. You follow the blood to see the guy who smugly had you arrested dead with an 8 foot long sword impaling him to his desk.

It could contribute to that feeling somewhat.

Nothing more amuseing then when he throws other party members at mosters and inflicts an absurd amount of damage.

Worst Villian: Sephirtoth, I mean come on, does a theme sway that easy? He's a mommas boy...

Best Villian: I don't know... I've never really been impressed by any of them.

Worst Hero: Tidus, Jecht was so ashamed that his boy was such a whinny li'l ***** XD I laughed whenever Jecht made fun of him.

Best Hero: I'm giving this to Red XIII/Nanaki because he's a pretty cool character, was one of the more interesting characters to me. He's a talking wolf/dog that lives for hundreds of years, has a flame on his tail and can talk.

Oh, god, that game... I seriously wanted to lobotomize myself as I watched them systematically destroy one of my favorite games. The fact that the old main marry's an NPC after the last game spent a lot of time with some potential love interest, some of which was actually really well done, because he wants the woman's kid to have a father hurt me in so many ways. It also shows that they couldn't think up any more good characters for your party (not that those two were good at all) by making the game have that awful Pokemon-like monster collection, but you have to make sure that all the elements are filled in right, even though all spells have elements, and the opponents affect that elemental field too. Ugh, that game made me hate myself more and more as I progressed if only because the further I got, the worse it violated ToS's legacy.

Best: Celes, imo one of the most understandable and a character I can really feel sympathy for (probably also has something to do with the middle section).

Worst: Cloud, maybe not really the worst but I hate him the most.

Other good ones would be: Cecil, Cid (FFVII), Vivi and a large part of the VI cast.
Other bad ones: Sephiroth, Vincent, that red haired dude from FFIX, Zell, Selphie, Tidus, Jecht, Relm, Strago and some others I can't remember.

Played IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X. Which reminds me I also hate everyone in X-2.

I really loved Vivi from FFIX because I fell in love with his character ever since he first tripped. lol ;P aww - poor guy.

As for hate that would go to Hope from FXIII - his story line seemed so cliché.

I only ever played 8, 10, and 12. The best would probably be Auron and Rikku. The worst might be Vaan. I'm tolerant, so I don't hate him. However, he's definitely not the main character.

my favourite would have to be cloud after he went braindead. It was revenge for repeatedly annoying me with his depressing storyline.

best hero is- a tie between Sezh and Al-Cid Margrace
worst Hero is- Hope(come on he is pure angst for the first half of the game and just plain annoying for the second half)
best villian- Sephiroth come on he is just well...Sephiroth
honorable mention goes to- Cid from FFXII one crazy ************...
worst Villian-Sin from FFX because it's just a thing with no real motivation...
