First Truely Violent Game you ever played?

DOOM. First FPS I ever played, Best FPS I ever played.

literally smashing people about on tekken at a mates house when i must have been around eight... good times...
i never found shooting games to be violent, you press a button the people die, a little blood maybe, but nowhere near as bad as smashing someones face in with a roundhouse kick that sends them flying and following it up by jumping in the air and smashing them to the ground.
also fighting games are a lot easier to copy in real life...

In terms of gore, probably the arcade version of House of the Dead when I was 8(ish). Or GTA 2 or Future Cop: LAPD, both for the PS1. Or Quake 2 for (I think), the Dreamcast.
There are a few, but not sure which is the first. Things get hazy through all that blood.

Whilst I probably played some pretty violent stuff on the Spectrum, 16 colour display was not conducive to portraying violence in any coherent way.

So I'm going to say Moonstone, on the Amiga. So many hilariously bloody ways to die.

I can't remember all that well, but I think I played Mortal Kombat around 8 or 9 years old and DOOM when I was 10.
