Pomegranates. I love them to death, but it's such a pain to peel off that outer skin and try to get the seeds out without making them mush.

toblerones, those fuckers are the most evil chocolate bar, I always injure myself somehow while trying to bite one of the triangles off, and then break my hand trying to pry the others off.

and oranges, I have to cut them up into 8 pieces and then suck the juice out of them, I don't eat the damn things I just drink the juice.

Crayfish. So much work for so little, yet it tastes so incredibly good.
Oh yes that resonates very well with me. I love lobster/crayfish but so much effort (and money) for so little! Delicious though...

mangoes. Love the blighters but as neat as you try to eat them it all just degenerates into a sloppy mess.
Same here, except!
I'm allergic. Well not even mildly, my throat just gets really swollen afterwards. It's worth it to me though

No no, the ultimate middle finget to vegetarians is the pigturducken.

Anyway, on-topic. Anything that I can get at Wagamama or at a Chinese. I love the stuff, but I can't use chopsticks to save my life. There's a reason the knife and fork is more widely used.

I love king prawns, but why oh why do some places leave the fucking tails on? I just sit there for about 10 minutes painstakingly going through breaking off each tail, making a nice little pile on the side of my plate, whilst everyone else ploughs through theirs like crisps.

Pistachios. After breaking a few open my fingers start to hurt, and it's even worse when the shell's completely closed, making you resort to biting on it. If they weren't so delicious I wouldn't bother.
Got it in one! and the shells are soooo salty wen u bite them.

I'll have to agree with those who have mentioned lychees, mangoes and pomegranates, because they are all amazingly delicious and can all be a total mission to eat. Having said that, however, there is something to be said (when you're at home and in convenient proximity to washing facilities) for just enjoying to wonderful messiness of a delicious ripe mango or huge peach or whatever. You know, one of the ones that has you sticky from fingers to elbows and down your chin before you've even taken three bites...=)

Pomegranates, simply getting the seeds out of the thing is a lot of messy annoying and tasty work...
I love pomegranates too, but they always turn my fingers red by the time I'm finished eating them.

Cherries, Green Olives (the kind that still have the pits) and artichoke. I love all three, but they're a real pain to try to eat.

They're called CRAWfish thank you very much. And yes, they are both the most delicious food ever AND the biggest pain in the ass to eat. :D

Shrimp and ribs would top my list. I love a good plate of BBQ rips but bloody hell are they annoying to eat; mostly seen I have a slight obsession with keeping my hands clean at all times.
Agreed on the ribs, it's just not worth eating them at any place that doesn't give you a hot towel when you're done.

They come from Louisiana, so we here in Louisiana get to name them. And we named them crawfish. :p

You can also catch them off the coast of South Australia. It's like how you Americans call it a sidewalk and we call it a footpath, you call it jello we call it jelly. Slight differences in linguistics.
