Poor Australia. I guess I didn't think about that. They would have to move the show to somewhere in North America where it would be easy to attract guests. Or use a satellite, which is less appealing. And yes Rove does use a similar format, as do many talk shows.
or maybe we can use this show to get the Australian side of the industry kickstarted

For a pilot it was good. It was good, but awkward. I felt like the three guys where reading from a piece of cardboard someone had held up in behind the camera, that they where just reading off what they had previously written before. Frankly I think that they need to set this up in the same way they do the Australian Gamer Podcast. In the AG podcast one of them (I have no idea who... Matt maybe) comes up with a few topics and then all three talk about them and provide their opinions. I think that this would make a much better format for the show. Coming up with your opinions on the spot and not reading them to us will make the show feel more natural and remove that awkward tension. It will also add the ever so enjoyable podcast antics to the show, something I feel it needs. It would also be better if the show would feature less skits. The MGS one was lame, the Halo one was alright but a little replayed and obvious and the Duke Nukem one, while funny showed about as much thought and planing in the actual skit. It was clear to me that the skits where time wasters, an attempt to lengthen the show. If you want to turn this into a series then you can't be coming up with things to lengthen the time. One or two skits in the show would be great but 9 is way to much.

But like I said it was good. I don't feel like my time was wasted.

So my question's are:
1: What do you think of it?
Oh goody, another probably generic Gaming Podcast probably, sans women.
Is it something that you would be interested in?
Not as much as Webcomics written by Scott C. and Nathan Stapley.
2: Did you think that Yahtzee was slightly more socially awkward than you thought?
Not as much as he looks older than I thought.
3: What do you think candy has to do with gaming, if it has anything to do with it at all?
Absolute correlation in the way that humans can find justifications for any argument.
3 is less than -6.

1. I've watched the first episode and I think its pretty good, but seriously, what does the guy on the right actually do, does he even need to be there?
2. Nope, Think hes playing to the role he set up for himself
3. Nothing, for me Beer is the gaming 'snack'... doesn't really help with CS though

Yes, but if they did that, they would have to move to a place thats cold and miserable, and doesn't have any decent mangoes.
Hey not every location in the US is cold and miserable

But you're right we're quite mango deficient.

1: I loved GameDamage. Yathzee's cynicism is a never-ending source of happiness for me. This is definately something I could see myself getting into. Especially the game parodies. Those were one of my favorite parts of the show.

2: No, I was pretty spot on with my assumption of his awkwardness. It's not a huge deal, as I feel it adds to the humor aspect. It's also pretty understandable since he's used to only having his voice in videos.

3: There is few greatest sources of a quick sugar high than candy. Anyone who has spent 14 hours playing one game knows that.

1-God no. Yahtzee is only good in small doses. When you have to watch him for a half an hour, it's just annoying. In fact my favorite part is when Matt shuts-up Yahtzee. on top of that the skits were absolutely atrocious basically relying on, "Hey look its a guy in a master chief outfit!"

2-No, he's just about as awkward a I though he would be.

3-Candy contains glucose, glucose helps the brain function, the better the brain functions the faster you think, therefore if you eat candy while gaming you might be slightly quicker mentally.

*thinks*
wait a second... Yug, Guy?
Yahtzee's freind guy is Yug!

*wonders the obviousness of that statement*
If they sell it as "top gear for video games" they could get it picked up by SBS

Yeah I gotta say the skits really weren't that great, especially the DNF development team one. Maybe back in 2001 it would've been funny, but...

The whole production felt awkward, I really would of preferred if this were a podcast. All three of these guys seem to have no screen presence and look like they feel uneasy about being on camera, while I enjoy Yahtzee's work in Zero Punctuation I don't see this watered down version of him getting many new fans. Still, it worked well enough for a pilot, and I suppose they can play with format in future episodes.

need more polish, and some good stuff could happen.

i do think the guy with the hat needs to be in the center, you have happy-i-like-stuff folks on the left side of the couch, and y. over on the right, just sorta bringing down everything

"i like sonic blah blah! its my favorite game!"

"You don't know anything."

sink the center of the couch instead, while the two happy-go-luckies do their best to keep him from sinking through the floor!

it also seemed awkward when he had to lean over the middle guy to dismiss the opinions of the guy on the other side.

I rather enjoyed the monologues on gaming in general more than the specific in depths on games.

I don't know. I liked it overall, but the sketches were kind of lame. I would watch it, but I hope they either take the sketches out or improve them. Or at least have different ones.

1: Some parts were pretty good, other parts I simply liked :)
I think I'll watch a few episodes before I form my "final" opinion of it, but yea. I liked it.

2: Yes, I'd say that he was slightly more "socially awkward" then I thought...
But give him time, I think he just needs to (as a few people have said already, sorry for repeating) spend a bit more time in front of the camera, and he'll loosen up a bit more.

3: Honestly? I'm really not sure :p

1. I lol'd. Both at the jokes and Yahtzee's awkwardness.
2. See above.
3. Nothing, except that I want them.
