Empathize or sympathize both work in that situation. It's because The Prince was a real character. He wasn't invincible and he didn't try to stop everything based on anger or revenge. He did everything out of love for Farah and his father. He had human emotions not just anger, a desire for revenge, and occasionally happiness.
