BioShock.

Well, not progressively worse, but the last third or say takes nose dive.
I dunno how to calculate how far in i was, but after the bit you get the camera i just felt board of the game.

I might actually go finish it now :p
That's actually pretty early in. Whole game should take 6-8 hours. I'd say finish it at least once.
I really want to finish it

but i just don't find hunting about for bits of the lazarus vector (where iv stopped) all that fun, im sure some people have a fantastic time with games like that, i just don't like the whole strickt path thing (whats the name for a game like that?)

[p.s i appologise for terrible spelling :))]
"On rails" shooter, maybe?

Yeah, they can be lame, but I think, mostly, BioShock makes up for it with a fabulous atmosphere and story.
He means "linear" not "on-rails".

I somewhat agree with Bioshock dropping in quality near the second half because they didn't focus on the atmosphere as much as they did in the first half. The scariest moments of Bioshock were in the first 2 sections, with the exception of the Sander Cohen section (that place was f**ked up). After that, 2K seemed to be focused on finishing the game rather than atmosphere.

Still a great game though.

I'll have to say RE4 because of a part where I faced-off against Rocket Launcher-wielding Druid zombies, that's where my Ridiculousness Meter went off the charts.

Obviously I love Bioshock and I thought the atmosphere was there from beginning to end. One thing though: Fontaine was a letdown, too easy.

Assassin's Creed and Far Cry 2
Haven't played Far Cry 2, but Assassin's Creed did get very boring once you realized that all you can do is:
1. Kill some guards
2. Kill some more guards
3. Kill some guy
4. Go to another city
5. Repeat
I was really disapointed when i played Assassin´s Creed, could be such a good game but the repetitive Gameplay destroyed the fun.

And Far Cry 2 has the same problem like Assassin´s Creed, repetitive Gameplay.

That's when you start to:
1. Kill homeless beggars
2. Run around crazily to high-paced music
3. Tackle strangers
4. Ride your horse over the innocent masses of people leaving Damascus
5. Be a general douchebag

Far cry 2 this is fun...no it's not
Yes, could not agree more. This and Fahrenheit. Both started off promising, but Fahrenheit became Dragonball Z towards the end of it -.-

Mirrors edge my huge grin gradually transformed into a sad face (the bit where you have to jump between trains accelerated this process tenfold)

[PROTOTYPE] really had that effect, looked awesome, at the start was awesome. But once you got into the game every mission would be about dodging the rockets the get spammed in your direction, 'taint fun.
Really?
It didn't look that good to begin with, IMO, and from all the reviews I've read, it turned out EXACTLY as i thought the game would.
In JB Hi-Fi, I had one of the store attendants walk up to me as I browsed for decent games, and picked up Blacksite: Area 51 (Big mistake, but that's another story). The store attendant said "If you're looking for a great game, you HAVE to get Prototype".
I looked at him, laughed in his face and said "I don't HAVE to get anything", and quickly left the store.
Ah... good times.

The Wet demo.

Cool at first but got repeative fast.
If the Freeway had been open, as in something out of the "Matrix reloaded", then it would have been fun leaping...but the QTE monster struck =[
Even just leaving the QTE`s for a major cutscene (like the truck bits at the start and end) would have wirked alright in my book but limiting you to one car at a time makes it just some rather dull on rails sections

The most recent example I can think of is Dead Space. It started of great, but someone turned into an action game during the middle. The few scares it had were gone, and it turned into a "find this, kill everything, find something else" type of game. That's actually what the entirety of the game is to me, but it was more interesting in the beginning. So now that I stopped whining, what game started off great for you, but got worse?
I think this is the perfect example...when I started I was like holy shit this game is great....and it got so bad I can't even bring myself to beat it

That and it was more or less a copy/paste of system shock 2.

Assassin's Creed and Halo 3.

Well, neither really got worse as they progressed. However towards the end they both had a huge dip in quality.

Halo 3 was great up until you kill the Prophet of Truth. Then, the game turns to shit. The flood ruin everything. The last two levels lacked the things that made the other levels interesting. The diverse environments, the beautiful scenery, the great music, and most importantly, the good game play. The last levels were repetitive and boring. High Charity in particular is, in my opinion, the worst level I have ever played in any game. Overall it felt like Bungie just rushed the last two levels, and I believed they soured many people's opinions of Halo 3.

Assassin's Creed also suffers towards the end of the game. The combat always sucked in that game, but thankfully most of the time you ran around jumping on buildings rather than slowly hacking up idiot guards with your blades. However, the end of the game decides to get rid of the open environments and instead has you fight wave after wave of soldiers on an incredibly linear path. Having the game end with so much combat really ruined it for me.

Resident Evil 5. I loved the first 2 chapters of the game, but once they sent bumbling tribal dudes at me, it got a little weird. Then they got me solving puzzles in an Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider kinda scheme... and then when they gave the Majini guns, I gave up XD

When it comes to morons, I don't sugar-coat it.
I'm the one with money, so I'll decide what I'm buying.
Not some imbecile who probably hasn't played the game and is only trying to sell-through more units of stock.
