The nightmare in Max Payne was pretty freaky. Especially when you're 9 years old. Running through those blood tunnels, hearing the baby cry...Ugh.

Fallout 3's vault with the drugs in the air scared me shitless, And im still jumpy in that game. Too many times ive turned around and...

[img/] http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images//thumb/c/c3/Deathclaw_(Attacking)_FO3.png/750px-Deathclaw_(Attacking)_FO3.png[/img]

And yes, I have yelled "baahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" when that happens.
Really, I dont think deathclaws are scary or annoying, they just make you work hard for your XP.
But what's really scary is the quest "Walking With Spirits". Or the Mole Rats. Level 30 and they still creep me right the f**k out.

The first thing I saw outside vault 101 was a Mole-rat in vats pretty much covering the whole screen.
Almost scared the stupid out of me.

I've got a very weird one:
GTA San Andreas... (i think it was that version)

I loved the game, but the sunken ship in one area of the harbour gives me serious vertigo for some strange reason :p
I have no problem flying about in the airplane, or even being up high in real life, but being above that sunken ship (in a boat or in the air) always scares the crap out of me!

Oblivion

Because of those damn Imperial Guards. Once I was just walking through the wilderness, guardsmen randomly came up behind me and yelled "STOP! YOU'VE VIOLATED THE LAW!!!"

Not even sure what I did. Considering the bounty was 5 gold, it couldn't have been much.

I get really scared when travelling through Oblivion's caves, mines and forts. The first time Lucien Lachance from the Dark Brotherhood scared the crap out of me, too. I was too busy wondering why my character was waking up after only an hour's sleep, when the camera suddenly zoomed in on him, and I actually yelled.
Also this.

Hmm scary when not ment to be scary... headshots I don't see coming from the side if they hit the 1st time I always jump a little, but scary in a scary game about the 80% of the time in Echo Nights: Beyond. (Shudders)
Oh god that game was always good for a scare. Which one did it for you? Mine was always
that fucking priest from the fisheries and the mine elevator, the way he'd shake the security camera if you moved it when he was around, and the way he'd block you from trying to run past him.

I would have to say Myst. I always felt like someone was watching me throughout the whole game just waiting for me to turn a corner and I'ld get mauled.

First thing to come to mind was the Shalebridge Cradle in Thief; Deadly Shadows. Though it is meant to be scary. It's also one of my favorite game levels ever. Pretty flawlessly crafted, IMO.

Well, there's always Milla's Secrets in Psychonauts...
Good one. That was pretty frightening. The Meat Circus level was also pretty disturbing/scary (and no, I don't mean for the way the difficulty got ramped up 1000% all of a sudden).

The darker caves and pathways in DK64 scared the crap out of me as a kid. Not so much now though.

Resistance: Fall of men, boy those were good times when I finally bought my very own PS3 two years ago, while bringing my two best friends with me cuz they didn't want to miss a second of seeing its awesomeness. We get home (going half an hour on foot), setting it up quickly and gently (duh, you dont even wanna touch it because its so fresh, am I right?), while trying out Resistance and its co-op possibility's all the while having lots of fun, we get to the level where you first meet those slow, creepy, worker type chimera who barely make any noise at all so its harder to spot them or where they will come from (yes the place was very dark and dim lighted, so we had to turn on our flashlights)! When we got to a small narrow corridor filled with boxes and cleaning out the place of those creepy looking guys (or so we thought), I turn around to check on my co-op buddy and surprisingly (also very screamingly in a bit of a high pitched voice) shout "WATCH OUT, BEHIND YOU", in seconds the room turned into a jumping scream fest, when the other two take a glance of the sneaky chimera trying to give my buddy a hug around the neck and a ear examination (or so it looked like), everyone jumped out of the couch, stopped screaming and eventually start laughing on what has befallen us. Man good times.

The original Tomb Raider. The atmosphere was just killer and, even if I was just a kid, I did NOT want to go into the darker areas. Thinking back on it it's kind of funny. Whenever I freaked out on that game I just got up, asked Mom for a sammich, and played Spyro.

Oh yeah every time.
It didn't help that sometimes you could walk down corridors that are locked at the other end early on and come back and find the preist just popping up to screw with you once you clear the objective in the last area.

I didn't realize the black robes were apart of his uniform till I found his info thought he was a special demon/ghost sense he never stayed in one place.

The first Resident Evil creeped me the fuck out when I was a kid. 'course, that game's not even remotely scary by today's standards.

I was also piss-scared by this shitty Amiga (or whatever ancient computer) game, "Gold Digger". You'd play this guy going around gathering gold (presented as stars or asterisks) and the beepity music was horrifying to listen to.
