Can't think of any bad, but how awesome would a Red Faction: Guerrilla movie be? Hell, they can use the existing trailer, it already has the Movie Opening Guy.

The thing is in regards to the people saying sports games, we already get alot of American Football movies, mostly set out like Dawsons Creek. So i dont see why Madden would be any different.
Some rookie upcoming star gets drafted, trains his heart out, plays a couple of big games and eventually plays in the super bowl. While in the background another story could be evolving, like his relationship with his parents, or a story where he doesnt feel in control of his life ( being controlled by the player after all ), where he is a victim of his own talents.
Maybe track his career over a few years, where he gets transfered to another team and has deal with a bit of tension as the old rival / new guy. Then like the latest Rocky he gets old and has deal with the shotcomings of his life.
So yeah i dunno that it would be a great movie, but doesnt sound so bad.

I'm not surprised to see Halo get mentioned.. I actually think that as series Halo COULD potentially be a really good movie trilogy... it's just that Hollywood would mishandle it, fuck it up and just make it a story about humans killing evil aliens without any of the depth and complexity of the actual trilogy (if Halo Wars was any indication).

I was surprised to see Portal get mentioned, because Portal is puzzle game. That can't be made into a movie.
You know what the one game that would make an awful movie... Left 4 Dead. it's would just be a zombie movie, nothing unique. The only way to make it interesting would be to have Zoey ridicule the cliches in zombie movies. And Hollywood would still mess her character up and cast some big boobed lass instead of a normal looking girl.

Unfortunately it seems all games make bad movies. I'm looking forward to the Metal Gear Solid movie, it was practically and playable movie to begin with so it shouldn't be to hard, just do what they did with watchmen and make it frame for frame (yes I am aware that watchmen was a graphic novel not a game) in live action.
