Games that would make terrible movies

The Good: WoW, GTA, Saints Row, Cooking Mama, maybe Warhammer 40k if it was done Black Hawk Down style.

The Bad: Halo, KillZone... any FPS

The Ugly: Pong, any Japanese games except for Cooking Mama, Gears of War

I'm curious to see how you'ld see Cooking Mama play out as a good movie...

Personally I'ld say Kingdom Hearts, its extremely confusing and full of silly Disney characters already. There would be no saving that.

Halo, first that came up in my mind.

Halo was planned to be a movie, however the project is on ice, Can't see why it'd be bad though. Or is it just because you don't like Halo in general and feel that you have to tell every body that some more?

I liked Halo at first. After Halo 3 I'm sick of it. The story wasn't THAT great, and how would they have to do those special effects in a movie? (In the case the entire film isn't computer animated.)

As for Guitar Hero, I think it could work if it played out like Rock Star, where a guy from a tribute band ends up singing for his favourite band. It could start off with a guitar player joining a small time cover band, then they start to make it bigger until they end up opening for a big band (Maiden, Metallica etc) and at the end one of their guitarists falls ill and he has to play with them as a stand in. It's a fairly simplistic plot, but if they brought in some humour, some Spinal Tap like antics, it could be fun.

Bad movie: Grand Theft Auto. There's no way it would be made without a Uwe Boll-ish story.

Good movie: StarControl.

A StarCraft movie would hurt my feelings. I bet it would suck almost as much as Wing Commander.

I wanna see Grim Fandango; Live action make everyone where really outlandish costumes.

Sonic the Hedgehog. Or Star Fox. Because a live action film would just be a bunch of people in furry costumes and in an animated (or CGI) film the writing would suck.

Star Fox MIGHT (emphasis on might) work as a PG-13 animated television series and we all know that Sonic is damn good if done correctly.

Cooking Mama must save the lives of her fellow Mamas by cooking the biggest meal in cooking history. Gritty, intense and deep.
