Actually, Halo fanboys usually say:

OMG BRING BACK T3H BR BUNGIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

So yeah, the MLG Halo fanboys for me.
Urgh, I almost actually forgot about that. MLG absolutely ruined Halo 2 multiplayer for me "huehue, you can tell we're pro because we outlaw everything we can't counter!"

WoW isn't that bad actually, most of the community is really nice in-game, you just run across a retard every now and then.

OT: probably the shooter fanboys, mostly because the MW2 community was HORRIBLE. and that people are arguing about Black Ops vs. CoD 4.

Well, excluding trade chat, which is kind of like viewing a censored version of /b/ with a 2-year lag on the memes.

Final Fantasy 7
Kingdom Hearts
and CoD

They all infuriate me to the point that my higher brain functions start to magically dissipate and I turn into a rabid hate monster.

Does Justin Beiber count?

But seriously, probably Halo and Call of Duty for me. The fanboys/fangirls are so in-your-face about how good they are, and why their preferred game is better than the other.

Platformers: Kingdom Hearts and Jak fans
Beat'em Ups: 2D originated fighters, such as Street Fighter, King of Fighters etc
Excuse me, good sir, but I wish to correct you on two fronts.

1. Kingdom Hearts isn't a platformer.

2. Street Fighter isn't a beat'em'up.

I'm not really trying to single you out because there's about a million posts like this in the thread but honestly I think by this point there's more people who hate Halo fans than there are actual human beings who enjoy Halo. I've never even seen the fanboy behavior that has people in such a froth, beyond obvious trolls.

While we're on the subject, I've never heard a Justin Bieber without song either... without consciously looking it up.

I just bring it up because I personally know some people that are obnoxious fanboys/fangirls. Also, I'd think that many people who hate Halo fans also play and enjoy Halo, but are having their experience soured by some of the more 'extreme' fans (ie. Angry 12 year olds). I play Halo casually, and I enjoy it when I do play, but I'm not a big fan of the community. The same goes for Call of Duty, except I've completely given up on that community.

Because she's written pitch-perfectly.
See now that's one thing I really hate when people use the word "perfect" or "perfectly" and pass it as a fact.

"She's written perfectly in my opinion."

I have no problem with an answer like that, however. If something is perfect then wouldn't that imply that there is nothing wrong it and if there is nothing wrong with it then wouldn't everyone love it?

What do you mean more questions? There was only one question in my post, technically there were'nt any but what ever makes you happy. I just hate it when people call something that's a matter of opinion "perfect".

Technically, a lot of the most annoying fanbases are exaggerated especially by people that are against them. For example, CoD's community is actually not as annoying as most would make it out to be, it's just we hear so much about how some people can be idiotic mic-spammers that we assume that to be the case for everyone. Obviously, you will never hear how you met some nice people on CoD because that's not worth talking about. It's also due to the most annoying people in a certain community being the most vocal to people outside of it. Does that mean CoD and Halo are devoid of these annoying stereotypes? No, we wouldn't be talking about this if it was completely false.

OT: CoD fanboys do annoying me, but recently, I'm starting to get annoyed by Bioware fanboys. Not only do they express a flavour of elitism that is almost equal to the "hardcore CoD fan", they act like real snobs and express a level of pseudo intelligence, flailing their supposed superior choice in games and calling anyone out for disagreeing with them by calling them "mindless sheep". Just like a previous user said, it's amusing that they express such hostility towards other people's choices in love interest on their own forums, it's no wonder trolls refer to Mass Effect as "waifu dating simulator".

Halo, Kingdom Hearts, and those pretentious fanboys/girls who hate Fallout 3 and only like the originals.

Just wondering if there was anything else you'd like to (implicity) ask.

You honestly don't see the difference? In exchange for its DRM, Valve offers you the ability to automatically download updates, store saves/settings on their servers, re-download the game wherever/whenever you want. Ubisoft didn't allow any of the above, had no offline mode, and if I remember correctly they had an install limit as well.

The reason Valve gets praised in this situation is the number of bonuses it offers in exchange for DRM. It's one of the few cases where a cracked version (IE one not connected to the Steam network) actually has less features.
As someone who lives in a rural area and isn't always guaranteed a connection... no. I don't see the difference at all. Steam Offline mode doesn't work often enough to even call it a feature, you are locked out of your own games until the patch is forced on you, require frequent online validation of even single-player games that you bought the retail box for, I don't need to save me settings because I don't have 90 computers to play on, and downloading the game whole-cloth is often more impractical than just, say, walking over to a shelf and putting the disk in the drive.

Though I thank you for proving my point about Valve fanboys.
Er, how does Steam offline mode "not work"? Just sign online once to authenticate your game and then switch to offline mode. I do it all the time.

In any case, I can see how given your situation you don't have a lot of love for any game with online DRM, but hopefully you see why those with a stable connection have much more praise for Valve than Ubisoft. If not, I hazard to say that you are the one letting your biases blind you in this case.

I'm going with WoW. I 'had' (had being the key word here) a buddy you would just disappear for weeks. He even skipped school when some expansion came out. Ended his relationships with just about everyone (me included). Have not heard from him since. Rather pathetic really... That and the suicide rates I hear related to it. It's just a damn game I won't swan dive out a window because of one.

Sonic fans.

Oh dear god, I have never seen a fan base so devoted to a series that is dead and buried so much.

<..>

Ok, maybe excluding Star Wars...

Valve fanboys/girls.

They piss me off with all their "Portal is the greatest game ever made and the characters are the best ever"!

To this day no one has told me why they like Glados even though I've asked many times, they usually just say "cause she's funny and THE CAKE IS A LIE"."
god i know what you mean.
They think anything valve makes is instantly perfect.
